“This week is going to be busy as hell,” she said. “Let’s hang out next weekend?”

“Want to go to Red’s Tavern next Saturday?” I asked. “I’ve been promising my cousin Sam I’ll come visit.”

“Is that the cousin you went on the road trip with?”

“That’s him,” I said. “Sam is awesome. He’s a bartender at Red’s. By next Saturday I’ll even be done with my paper on the Church of England, so we can celebrate.”

“Let’s do it,” she said. “I’ll see you there.”

An hour later, before going to sleep, I let myself do another quick Google search of Brody.

The now-familiar photos were all there. As I swiped through, there was one photo of him from spring training, where he was running laps around a track shirtless.

He looked like a goddamned movie star.

Hotter than anybody in that damn movie we watched tonight.

Sunlight illuminated his chest, highlighting his pecs and the gentle curves of his shoulders. In the photo, he was smiling, like running miles in the heat was easy-peasy for him. Like he could do it every day.

As I stared at the photo, I realized I was getting hard. Really hard.

I swiped away from the photo immediately, locking my phone and shoving it onto my nightstand. I turned over in bed, so turned on but also wishing like hell it would just go away.

I knew it was no big deal. People got hard all of the time, from everything under the sun. But that didn’t stop me from feeling guilty.

But I was already fantasizing about everything he could do. Someone with a body like that would be able to hold me up against a wall. Toss me around however he wanted. Pin me down. And knowing Brody, he’d do it all with a smile on his face.

Fuck.

I’d never been close with anyone who was a dedicated athlete, and even sitting next to him on the couch had been enough to get a sense of how strong he must be.

Once I’d started thinking about it, I couldn’t stop. I ran my open palm along my cock through my boxer briefs at first, in some ill-fated attempt at pretending I didn’t need to come. It only took a minute before I had to push down my boxer briefs, toss aside my sheets, and grip my cock, stroking hard and fast.

I tried to think of nonspecific things. Men with big muscles. It certainly was a popular enough thing to jerk off to. But my mind kept drifting closer and closer toward images of Brody.

I sank back into the bed, gripping the sheets with one hand as I pumped my cock with the other. I began fantasizing about football players, specifically. Then college football players. Then Kansas Midwest football players. The closer my mind got to thinking about Brody, the closer I got to coming.

And then my brain betrayed me. The image of Brody, lying back and covered in his own cum, flashed through my head. The look of satisfaction on his face. His big brown eyes meeting mine.

“Fuck,” I muttered. I was going to lose it. There was no going back now. I stroked harder and faster until I was coming, shooting and making a mess all over my stomach and my chest just like Brody had done earlier.

As I lay there catching my breath, I expected the guilt to flood in.

But maybe Dani was right.

Maybe it was just fine to fantasize about my roommate. I wasn’t hurting anybody, was I? I knew I’d never get to experience being with him in real life.

Maybe it wasn’t so bad to pretend.

“And that is how you play football!” Vance called out to me as we hit the locker rooms. I was hotter than hell, and I still had a sheen of sweat all over me, but I felt better than I had in weeks.

“Fuck yes!” one of our linebackers, Mike, chimed in, coming up to give both of us bear hugs.

“We cleaned up tonight,” I said, shaking out my hair and pulling off my jersey.

Something good had been in the air all day. It had been a week since our devastating loss to the Marydale Bobcats, and today had been our away game down in Oklahoma. The Copper Eagles were a great team, but they didn’t stand a chance against us today. From the first quarter onward, we’d had the juice. Vance’s throws had been clear and easy. I’d made sure to be less of an idiot and keep my two feet firmly planted in bounds. Every single member of our team had been on their best game. Coach Baylin was amped as hell, too, roaring from the sidelines every time we scored a touchdown.

We’d won 34 to 10 without much trouble at all. And now I felt like I could touch the damn sky.

We showered off, packed up, and loaded onto the bus for the trip back home. I had a good few hours of time to myself, and my body was the perfect amount of tired as I settled into my seat on the bus. I felt relaxed and ready for anything, all at the same time.
