He gave a nod before he walked off.

Huntley continued to stare, tall and proud in his armor, a few scuffs from the swords that had scratched his plates in battle. He rounded on me as if I was the enemy, his arms by his sides.

“Is that understood?”

His stare only intensified.

Everyone else was afraid of this man, but I sure wasn’t. I turned my back on him and returned upstairs to the quarters that were vacant when I arrived. They had a bed big enough for the two of us and a private washroom. I took up residence immediately, looking out the window often to check on the dragons.

He entered the room a moment later, slamming the door behind him.

I’d changed out of my armor into a dress once I’d returned to the castle, and the second all those things were off my body, I felt so much lighter. My muscles were stronger now after being strained under the weight. I turned around to look at him, not responding to his intimidation.

He stared me down for a while before he tossed his helmet to the side and dropped the various pieces of armor that protected his body. More of his skin was revealed as he came closer, and that was when I saw the deep scar in his arm, like a boulder had struck him from the side and bruised him badly.

He got the rest of his clothes off, stripping down to nakedness.

He was rock hard.

His mind hated my defiance, but his body was aroused by it. He stalked closer and backed me up into the bed, his head dipping down to look me in the eye. When my ass touched the bed, he fisted my hair and kissed me, kissed me hard. It was a crushing kiss, like he wanted me but was also pissed about it at the same time.

It drew me out of my anger, and my hands found their way to his chest, feeling the slabs of stone that protected his heart. His skin was searing hot as if he were standing in the middle of a fire but didn’t get burned.

His hand gave my ass a hard smack before he grabbed my hips and yanked me back onto the bed. He gathered my dress and hiked it up to my waist before he ripped off my underwear. Then he dragged me into position and shoved himself all the way inside me, hitting me deep and hard like he wanted to hurt me.

He could never hurt me, not when it felt so good.

His hands grabbed on to the tops of my thighs to keep me in place—and then he fucked me so hard it sounded like the bed was about to break. The legs wobbled with every thrust, and at any moment, they were about to splinter.

But he carried on like he didn’t even notice. “Baby, you drive me fucking crazy.”

TWENTY-ONE

Huntley

I was up at the crack of dawn.

First thing first, I fucked my wife.

It was the way I liked to get my day started.

Half asleep, she just lay there, moaning incoherently, climaxing with quiet sighs rather than screams. Her eyes barely opened most of the time.

I threw on my king’s uniform then entered the great hall, where I found Commander Brutus and my advisers drinking coffee and poring over maps. When I entered the room, they all rose to their feet to greet me in silence.

I took the seat at the head of the table, and they lowered back into their seats.

One of the servants immediately brought me coffee and a breakfast tray without my having to ask. It was eggs, breakfast sausage, and freshly baked toast—my favorite. I suspected Ivory had told them exactly what to make me yesterday.

“We don’t have time to waste. We must make our attack on the Capital immediately.” The Capital was a short distance away, less than half a day’s ride. That was how I had mapped it out, to take the Kingdoms in that specific order so the final journey would be the shortest. Our army easily dwarfed theirs, and with our two dragons, the siege would be easy. Except for one fact—they may have a dragon of their own. “Make sure all the soldiers are well-fed and well rested before tomorrow. We take everyone and leave the Kingdoms with just enough people to keep them functional in our absence.”

Ivory walked in the door, in a dress similar to the one my mother wore, the feather crest on her chest. She must not have been able to get back to sleep after I ravished her, so she had brushed her hair and decided to join me. Her eyes were still sleepy, like she would be a bit dazed all day. She approached the table and prepared to take a seat at the end.
