I thought she’d be in bed for at least another hour after the workout I gave her pussy before leaving the bed not too long ago. I guess it’s the sea air that’s given her new life. In fact, all these women around here seem to have caught a second wind if the amount of shit they’ve been getting into is any indication.

I don’t know how many years we have to be together before she realizes that she can’t hide shit from me. It would be nice if her little meetings with her friends were as innocent as she pretends, but I know better. At least their asses are confined to an island, so there isn’t much they can get up to.

‘The girls and I are going to try beach yoga, here, take this.” She passed off the kid who is not the nicest person in the morning and kissed my cheek before heading back inside. I heard her gaggle coming and hightailed it outta there.

I headed back down to the basement where some of the others were already stirring, what with their women on the move, it was a given they had to be up and at it to ride herd on this bunch. It’s good to see that I’m not the only one. The kid Jason was up and out of his room looking pitiful as hell. He kept staring at the door to the room where his new love interest was sleeping.

Damn kid had barricaded herself in the weapon’s room when we arrived. At least she couldn’t get any of them out of the display case in there, according to Mancini, who I’m beginning to think is some kind of mad scientist. No wonder he likes Mengele’s crazy ass so much.

Just then, said door opened, and she walked out looking better than the rest of us who’d barely had any sleep. From the kid’s reaction, I had a pretty good idea what was bothering him, poor thing. It must be hell having this much testosterone around his yet to be marked territory.

Mancini appeared from somewhere with his spook ass, and I just waited to see what the fuck was going to jump off. “Good morning, everyone.” He got a chorus of grunts from the guys. The only ones not grumpy and overtired are the few who’d stayed back with the women the night before; the rest of us who’d flown into DC were dragging ass.

Before anyone could say anything else, Roxy looked around the room, confused. “I thought you said there were women here.” She turned a frown on Jason, who just quirked his brow at her. “They’re on the beach.” His voice was smooth and non-threatening, but his stance was like an animal ready to spring.

She didn’t look like she believed him but then he reminded her that she’d met Arianna when she arrived. That didn’t do much good until she saw the kid in my arms. I actually saw the slight easing in her but said nothing. Now that she was here away from danger, my mind went back over everything Mancini had said about her before we went to bring her in.

She’s a tiny thing for sure, as most of the women around here are, but this one was young. Then again, so were Law, Creed, and Cord’s women, so she should fit right in. But none of them have been through what she has. She hides whatever she is very well, but after reading what had been done to her kills, I have no doubts as to what she truly is.

I can’t hold that shit against her because fuck if I wouldn’t have done the same. But how is she going to fit in with the women? Did anyone think of that shit? I’m pretty sure Mancini’s only thought was of bringing her in before the asshole law got to her first as if they were smart enough to figure this shit out. But did he give any thought to what having someone with her skills here with our women, our nosy as fuck women, could mean?

ROXY

Oh, he’s still pissed. I don’t know what he expected. Did he really think I was going to sleep with him? To be fair, that’s not what he’d asked. But to sleep in a bed with him keeping watch in a chair next to it was pretty much the same thing to me. Last night I’d been too tired and emotionally drained, so I let him get too close. But by the time we landed here in the early morning hours, I had myself together.

I looked around the room after seeing the toddler in Lyon’s arms, feeling a little more at ease but not by a whole lot. Since the women were on the beach, I decided on a different tactic. According to how they handle this next request, I’ll know whether or not I’ll be fighting my way out of here.
