My cock also seemed to forget that Rock wasn’t actually mine. In the moment, all I could feel was the warmth of his body against me, and with every passing moment I got harder and harder. I craved his skin, wishing I could get underneath the silky-soft material of his shirt. His kisses were slow and steady, and he didn’t pull away.

I was throbbing under my pants now. He’d moved forward a little more, his body so close to mine, and I was terrified he’d press against me and realize I was hard as a rock under my pants.

I let out a small groan, totally involuntarily. I lurched backward against the wall, awkwardly positioning myself so that my groin wouldn’t shove against him. As I moved, my leg hit the side of his ankle boot.

“Fuck,” he muttered, wincing as he pulled back.

“Oh God, I hurt you,” I said, reaching out to help him steady himself.

“It’s fine,” he told me, his tone clipped.

It was clear his ankle was in pain. But it was also clear he’d never in a million years admit that.

He was still ashamed about his injury, and I felt like there was nothing I could do to comfort him about it. He didn’t want to talk about it at all.

I let out a slow breath. My cock was still hard, but I felt slightly guilty about it now.

“I’m sorry, Rock,” I offered.

Our bodies were still so close. I could see him trying to ignore whatever pain he felt in his ankle, rocking it from side to side, biting the inside of his cheek. He was so ashamed, for no reason.

I reached out and pulled him in a little closer to me again.

“You know,” I said, “I’ve had more fun in one day of this fake relationship than I’ve had in entire real relationships.”

His eyes met mine again, some of the pain clearing away from his expression. “Bullshit.”

I shook my head slowly. “Unfortunately, I really do mean that.”

“I’m glad I’m the best fake boyfriend you’ve ever had,” he said, a glimmer of a smile starting to reappear on his face. “I like making you happy.”

One of his dimples appeared and it made something kick inside my chest.

“Those dimples, Rock,” I said, my voice low.

“Are you telling me you think I’m cute?”

He was being flirty. There was no doubt about it at this point. Right now, nothing was fake about how much Rock clearly enjoyed my compliment.

I couldn’t stop staring at his lips. My cock was pressed up against the front of my pants all over again.

Don’t kiss him again. You’re going to go too far.

I felt the gap between us closing and I didn’t know if it was just me leaning in, or both of us.

Footsteps came from the end of the hall, and our private silence was over. I glanced over and saw Cameron and Mom coming down the hallway.

“Oh!” I said, my cheeks already heating up. I stood up straighter, moving away from Rock, hoping to God that the bulge in my pants wasn’t too visible.

Mom grinned as she approached, waving a hand through the air. “Oh please, boys. No need to be bashful.”

“Get a room,” Cam joked, winking at me before he disappeared into his own room.

“Thank you for this evening. Both of you,” Mom said. “You helped me get my mind off of… everything.”

She looked at me and then put a hand on Rock’s shoulder and squeezed.

“Tomorrow’s going to go great, Ma,” I told her. “Good night.”

“Night, you two.”

She was in her room a moment later.

“See?” Rock said. “It was a good thing.”

“What?”

He caught my eyes, as if he was trying to figure out how I felt. “It was a good thing we were acting like a couple. Never know when someone’s going to see us, right? We have to look the part.”

He dug into his pocket for the room key and finally opened the door.

Rock was right. We had to look the part of a happy couple, and we’d been doing it.

But it had still felt so real. He had been flirting with me, there was no doubt in my mind.

“You coming in, babe?” he called from inside the room, and when I entered, I found him shirtless, his gorgeous upper half on full display.

I clenched my jaw.

Easy.

All I had to do was sleep in the same bed as this gorgeous man, keep my composure, and try not to freak him out or get hard in my sleep. How bad could it be?

Rock

When I opened my eyes, the morning light was still faint, just starting to peek in at the edges of the curtains. I turned over in bed to see Perry’s silhouette on the far edge of the bed.

It was like he was trying to stay as far away from me as possible while still being in the same bed. It was sweet, honestly. He knew I wasn’t gay, and was doing everything in his power to make sure I felt comfortable about the situation. He had no idea I’d spent plenty of nights sleeping next to other guys—camping, late shifts at work, wild nights in my early twenties.
