I chuckle as we walk into my house. I know we have a lot to talk about, and I can’t wait to get my hands on her properly, but first things first.

“I’m gonna hop in the shower so I don’t stink anymore,” I tell her. “There’s leftover pizza in the fridge.”

She eyes me warily. “How long has it been in there?”

“I don’t know…a few days.”

“Go.” She waves me off, reaching for her phone. “Take a shower. I’ll cover dinner.”

I’m no longer as tired as I was fifteen minutes ago as I walk into the bathroom and start the shower. While it heats up, I quickly shave and brush my teeth, then hop into the hot water.

I don’t hurry. There’s no need to. Sidney will be here all night, and I’ve already waited a week to see her.

So, I take my time in the shower, already feeling so much better but unwilling to let myself hope for too much because, at the end of the day, this could all fall apart again.

When I’m clean and dressed, I walk out to the living room and find Sid curled up at the end of my couch, one of the beers from my fridge in her hand.

“I got one out for you,” she says, gesturing to the other bottle on the coffee table. “Pizza will be here in about fifteen minutes.”

“Thanks.” I want to sit next to her and pull her into my lap, but instead, I grab the beer and sit in the chair across from her. “Where are you staying?”

“At the condo.” She sips the beer. “I never let it go. I like it there. So, let’s talk this out, okay? Because I don’t like misunderstandings.”

“Okay. My previous question stands. Are we still going to do the hookup thing when you’re in Seattle?”

“No.” She blows out a breath and sets her beer aside, rubbing her hands over her face. “I mean, yes, we’ll be hooking up, but I don’t think that’s all I want from you anymore, Keaton. I caught feelings somewhere along the line, and I can’t turn them off.”

“I can’t change the way I feel about your celebrity status,” I say quietly as she watches me with those big blue eyes. “I’m sorry, but I just can’t. And I would never ask you to choose.”

“I wouldn’t choose,” she replies flatly. “Because I wouldn’t ever be with someone who would ask me to. But, I think we can make this work. I refuse to believe that I can’t have both. I still have some things to work out, but I’d like to try.”

“I think, as long as I stay out of camera range, and you understand that I’ll always hang back when it comes to the spotlight, we can move forward.”

Finally, hope sets up residence in her eyes.

“Did you catch feelings, too?”

I grin and pat my leg, inviting her to sit on my lap.

She scurries over, sits, and wraps her arms around my neck.

“It’s okay,” she whispers in my ear. “You can admit if you caught the feelings. I won’t tell your secret.”

I laugh now and, with my finger under her chin, tip her face up so I can kiss the hell out of her.

God, I missed the taste of her. The feel of her in my arms.

The past week was absolute torture.

“I caught all of the feelings, sweetheart. It was never one-sided.”

She moans and shifts to straddle me, cups my face, and continues to kiss me as my hands roam under her short sweatshirt, over her bare skin.

“You’re not wearing a bra.”

She grins as she stares down at me. “It’s just easier that way.”

We’re a tangle of lips and hands, moans and sighs, until we eventually make it onto the floor, struggling out of clothes.

“Bedroom.” I stand and lift her, toss her over my shoulder, and smack her little ass.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had makeup sex before,” she announces with a loud giggle and then shrieks when I toss her onto the mattress. “I think I like it.”

“Oh, you’re gonna love it.” Reaching for a condom, I urge Sidney onto her stomach, but when she pushes up on her knees, I hold her down, pressing on the small of her back. “I didn’t say you could do that.”

“Oh, God, I love it when you’re bossy.”

I straddle her hips, and with my thumbs, gently spread her open. She glistens with need, and I easily push right inside of her, making us both groan.

“Missed you,” she whispers and grips the pillow with fisted hands. “God, I missed you.”

I can’t hold myself back from pushing harder and harder, going faster. I’m a man possessed, obsessed.

And when she cries out with her orgasm, I rock against her and then pull out, roll her over, and push right back in.

“Oh, God.”

“Say my name,” I demand. “Open those gorgeous eyes and say my fucking name.”
