“Are you eager for me to be inside you, Ms. Night?”

Grinning from ear to ear, she answered, “More than you could imagine.”

Cupping her face within my hands, I looked deep into her eyes. “I’m falling in love with you, Saylor, and I know the moment I’m inside of you, you’re going to own not only my heart but my soul.”

Her eyes filled with tears as I kissed her again and slowly pushed into her. She lifted her hips and we both let out small moans while I worked myself deeper into her. When I couldn’t get any deeper, I stilled. Our eyes met and she drew in a sharp breath.

I knew the words were there for both of us. Soon, soon we would both say those three words and it would be fucking glorious.

Moving my hands lower, I cupped her ass and slowly pulled her even closer. I made love to her in a way that was slow and beautiful—unlike anything I’d ever experienced.

With each movement, I felt our connection growing deeper and deeper. I couldn’t wait until the day I could feel her with nothing between us. I prayed it would be when we conceived our first child.

“Mason, faster. Harder.”

Her pleas spurred me on. We moved together in perfect unison as I moved faster and harder. The sound of our bodies hitting together filled the room, building both of our orgasms. Her nails dug into my back and her body arched. She bared down on me and called out my name as her orgasm hit her.

It didn’t take long for me to fall apart right along with her.

“Saylor, I’m going to come,” I breathed out as my mouth crashed onto hers.

I didn’t think I’d ever experienced anything so amazing in my entire life.

This was the woman I loved.

The woman I wanted to build a family with.

The woman I planned to spend the rest of my life with.

Five Years Later

The sound of little laughter filtered into my home office and I looked up and smiled. There was nothing sweeter than the sound of my 3-year-old daughter when she was happy.

I pushed away from my desk and headed into the kitchen to find Saylor helping Callie stir what looked to be cake batter.

“What are my two favorite girls doing?” I asked as I leaned against the doorframe.

The second Callie saw me, she let out scream and scampered off her little step stool to run to me. I dropped down and scooped her up into my arms.

“When did you sneak in?” Saylor asked, wiping her hands on a towel before making her way to me. Reaching up, she kissed me. That caused Callie to frame my face with her hands and pull my mouth to hers.

“Me, Daddy! Pwease!”

Laughing, I kissed her then kissed her nose before I focused on my beautiful wife. “You were both taking a nap and I didn’t want to bother you.”

Saylor smiled. “Sorry about that!”

I shook my head. “Don’t ever apologize for being tired, Saylor. After all, you’re carrying my son in your body and if he’s anything like me, he’s keeping you up at night.”

With a wink, Saylor said, “I tend to like the way you keep me up instead of how our son does it.”

Laughing, I leaned down and kissed her again. “I want to try a new position tonight.”

Digging her teeth in her lower lip, Saylor nodded.

“What are you making, sweetheart?” I asked Callie.

“Birfday cake!”

“For me?” I asked in pretend surprise.

She nodded.

“Your favorite kind too,” Saylor tossed over her shoulder.

“I told Derrick I’ll be working from home from this point on.”

Saylor turned and faced me with a surprised expression. “What?”

“I don’t need to be in the office. Ashley can handle things while I’m gone. Hell, she could probably do my job better than I can.”

Ashley had quickly moved on from being my receptionist to becoming one of the best market analysts we had on our team at Maxwell and Locke. Of course, she’d learned from the best: my wife. Saylor had taken Ashley under her wing, and the young woman had absorbed everything like a goddamn sponge.

“I told you she was good,” Saylor said with a wink.

I set Callie down. She quickly got bored with the cake and moved on to the coloring book that Saylor had placed on the table. Clearly, she’d known that our daughter would get bored and had a backup plan in place. She was the best mother ever and Callie and I were both lucky she was ours.

Sitting down next to Callie, I picked up a crayon and joined in on the coloring. “I’ve been thinking.”

“Oh yeah? About what?” Saylor asked.

“Stepping down as VP of marketing and taking on the consulting position Ava and Derrick proposed.”

Saylor stopped what she was doing and faced me, leaning against the counter. I could see the excitement in her eyes. The hopefulness.
