She laughs. “Nah. I’m a good girl. I just work in a bar.”

I love that she’s a good girl—that’s what I was hoping—but I don’t love that she’s working in a bar surrounded by drunks and creeps all night. Just the thought of that makes me squeeze my hands into fists.

“So, you’re not just a realtor?” I ask.

She shrugs. “Realtor by day, bartender by night.”

And dream girl all the time.

My body is tingling as we walk onto the second floor and start checking out rooms.

“Ew,” she says when we look into the master bedroom.

I laugh. “Way to sell me on the house.”

“You don’t want this house,” she says with her nose scrunched up. “Look at that green carpet. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.”

She’s leaning against one side of the doorframe and I’m leaning against the other. There’s no one around.

Our eyes meet for a long moment and I suddenly want to kiss her so bad I can’t breathe.

She takes a sip of her beer and my eyes drop down to her mouth.

Goddamn…

She’s letting her eyes slowly roam up and down my body. She looks flushed. Her eyes get a sexy sheen of gloss as our eyes meet.

I wonder if the pull is as strong for her. I wonder if she can feel how obsessed I am. Can she feel the hunger and need radiating off me?

“So, Mr. Gambill,” she says with a flirty grin. “Can you see yourself in here?”

I can see myself in her.

“What are you thinking?”

I swallow hard as I stare at her, blood boiling, eyes on fire. I’m desperate for this woman.

“I’m wondering how you’d react if I kissed you.”

Her luscious lips curl up into a grin. “Only one way to find out.”

I stand up straight and go to her.

“Oh,” she moans as I slide my arms around her scrumptious body. Her delicious perfume fills my lungs, making me all lightheaded and woozy.

My eyes are locked on her mouth as I lean down and kiss her.

Fuck. Her lips are so soft. She tastes so good. She feels incredible. I never want to stop kissing this girl.

She moans as she opens her lips a little more, letting me explore her mouth with my tongue. My heart is pounding in my chest. My knees go weak as I taste her.

I cup her cheeks and hold her in place as I kiss her long and hard.

If we were in the other house, alone and uninterrupted, I’d be carrying her to the bed right now. But there are too many drunk noisy teenagers around. One approaches us in the hall and I pull away from her perfect mouth.

“Holy shit, are you Austin Gambill?” the kid asks, stopping when he sees me.

“No,” I grunt, never taking my eyes off my girl.

She’s staring back at me like everything’s changed.

Everything has changed. She’s mine now.

“Can I get a photo?” the fucker asks as he pulls out his phone.

He comes butting over and I push him away.

I grab Norah’s arm, pull her into the bedroom, and close the door.

“I have to see you tonight.”

“Okay,” she says as breathless as I am.

“I have a game,” I say with my pulse racing. “I’ll get you a ticket. Front row.”

Her face drops. “I have to work at the bar tonight.”

Thoughts of calling the owner and purchasing the bar enter my mind. She won’t have to work tonight if I own the place.

“Maybe,” she says as she runs her hand down my chest. “Maybe I have one more ace up my sleeve.”

I grin and then kiss her again, hoping she does because I won’t be able to go one more night without seeing this girl.

My obsession is complete.

CHAPTER SIX

Norah

“Go, Austin!” I shout as he steals the puck and goes flying down the ice toward the opposing team’s net. I’m jumping up and down as he moves past one defender and then passes the puck back to Kemp.

Kemp shoots, but the goalie blocks it. The loose puck bounces on the ice as I clutch onto the stranger’s arm sitting beside me.

Austin is going for it. He grabs the puck with his hockey stick while a player from the other team hooks his other arm. Austin pulls it back and as quick as a strike from a snake, he flicks it between the goalie’s legs. It slides into the net.

The whole arena explodes into cheers as the buzzer goes off and the boys celebrate on the ice. I’m jumping up and down and screaming way too enthusiastically for someone who supposedly doesn’t like hockey.

Austin pops out of the group of hockey players and his eyes immediately find mine. I can feel my heart racing as I smile at him.

He smiles back and then watches me as he skates to the bench.

This is wild. I’m in the front row getting smiles from the hot available superstar rookie of the team.
