In just so short a time, her husband had become everything to Emmy. Friend and lover. Confidant and mentor. And now, he was her rival-turned-captor, and...why was she still in his arms again?

"Uh...Rowland? You can put me down now..." She tried wriggling out of his hold while speaking, but his arms remained like bands of steel around her.

It was only when he set her down behind a copse of trees that she realized what he intended to do, and her heart was torn between excitement and dismay.

Oh no, here we go again.

Emmy broke into a run, or at least she tried to. But she only managed a couple of steps before her husband effortlessly caught her with an arm around her waist and swung her back behind the trees. He had her breeches down in moments, and then she was back up again in his arms—-

A gasp escaped her as he slammed into her, and Emmy's legs automatically wrapped around his waist as he slammed into her again and again. The first few thrusts were all it took to destroy her self-control, and she went from inhibited to wanton.

More, please. Yes, harder. Rowland, please.

Being heard or seen was no longer a concern. All she could care about was that it didn't stop, and so she cried out again and again.

Yes. Yes. Don't stop. Please.

She clawed his back as the pleasure started to build, and her husband was now shoving his cock in and out of her like a rampaging beast wanting to devour her flesh. Her legs tightened around his waist, Emmy wanting to prolong the pleasure as much as she could.

But it was impossible.

"Scream for me, sweetheart," her husband suddenly whispered into her ear, and those words were more than enough to push Emmy over the edge. She came hard as she screamed, and she came even harder as her husband followed right behind her, his big, hard body stiffening for one moment before his seed filled her pussy in thick, powerful bursts.

Chapter Sixteen

MACK STARTED GRINNING when he saw his boss enter the stable and stop dead in his tracks as soon as he saw his wife. He was staring at Mrs. A like she was the most precious thing on earth...and indeed Emmy was that, never mind if she presently sported specks of manure on her cheek.

Before the boss's wife had come along, the sort of woman their boss dated had been rather snooty and high-maintenance. Most of them had also made the mistake of complaining about how smelly and disgusting horses were, and suffice it to say, that was also the last time those idiots were ever seen in the boss's company.

Horses were one of the few living things that Rowland Asherfield openly cared about, and the billionaire's expenses on rescue efforts, veterinary care, and maintenance amounted to thousands of dollars each month. Mack had always thought he'd never meet someone who loved horses more than his boss did, but after getting to know Mrs. A, he and everyone else working on the ranch quickly realized the two were a match made in heaven.

Rowland's thoughts as he watched his wife train their newest rescue were the complete opposite of his manager's.

There were times in the past when he had tried to imagine what kind of wife he would end up having, and his mind had only been able to conjure a vague impression of some woman with the same pedigree as his.

She would know which fork to use for which course...while his Emerald held the record for the fastest time of mucking out a stall with a kiddie-sized pitchfork. The wife he once imagined would pamper herself with a weekly hair trim at the most expensive salon...while his Emerald counted hoof trimming as a way to de-stress.

Life certainly had a twisted sense of humor, but Rowland wouldn't trade what he had now for anything. Hunting the next million-dollar deal used to be the only thing that excited and entertained him, but ever since marrying Emerald...

"Surprise..."

Rowland finally decided to make his presence known, and his wife spun around with a gasp (as expected) while at the same time throwing a bucket of dirty water straight at his face (sadly, also as expected).

Five minutes later, and a mortified Emmy couldn't stop saying sorry to her husband while an openly grinning Mack handed his boss a towel.

"There's no need to apologize, sweetheart.'

Rowland's soothing words made Emerald feel like she was the luckiest woman on earth. Her husband was just so perfect—-

"I'm sure you'll still end up doing something similar sooner or later."

Or not.

"You're making it sound like I deliberately did it," Emmy protested.

"You won't admit it of course," her husband countered, "but we both know it's the truth."

"It's not true!" Emmy turned to Mack, insisting, "You know it's not true, right?"
