The first time I had confessed my Needing to my best friend and begged him to help me, I had seen tears in his eyes after he whipped me. Not that he would ever admit to crying, but that’s Sel—he pretends to be stoic but he feels deeply for those he loves. He was used to hurting me now, but he never took pleasure in it.

Mistress Elgiana did. Back when I was her servant and had no choice other than to submit to her, she liked to fuck me with a phallus studded with thorns. Worse, she would laugh as I screamed in agony and the blood ran down my thighs.

“Shut up! I’m feeding your Needing, aren’t I?” she would demand scornfully when I begged her to stop. “This is what you need, Krynn. This is what you deserve. So be still and take it—open yourself like a good boy for me and maybe I’ll be finished soon.”

Just the memory of my old Mistress and her cruel treatment made me shudder. The Needing demanded submission and pain, but she had always taken everything to the extreme. I didn’t want to endure such treatment again, but I knew I’d have to undergo some kind of sexual submission soon or the beast inside me would turn on me and begin to eat me from within.

It was only a matter of time.

Later in the afternoon, Krynn and Sel and I went to visit the seamstress who had been making my gowns for a fitting. The coronation gown I was going to be wearing was amazing—it had a full, white skirt that was covered all over in tiny purple stones. The white satin bodice was likewise beaded with the Royal Purple gems and it was sleeveless and backless with a sweetheart neckline.

In contrast, the gown for my Investment Banquet that night was long and sleek. It hugged my curves and it had a slit right up the middle that showed my legs to the upper thigh when I walked. It was Royal Purple of course, covered and trimmed in black lace. I felt like a femme fatale when I put it on and strutted back and forth for the boys to admire.

“Fucking gorgeous,” Sel growled, his eyes hot with desire.

“You look beautiful, my Lady,” Krynn echoed and I saw the lust in his eyes as well. But now I knew the difference in what I saw coming from both of my guys. To prove it to myself, I went to stand between them.

When I put a hand on Krynn’s arm and concentrated, I felt his deep need to submit. He wanted to give himself to me in any way I desired him. In contrast, when I put a hand on Seldarin’s arm, I felt his desire to dominate and pleasure me. He wanted me on my back—wanted to be thrusting into me, filling me with his big cock until I moaned his name…

The very different urges coming from my two guys caused a maelstrom of lust inside me. I wanted them both—and I wanted to give both of them what they needed. Thinking back to the spicy romance books I’d read, I supposed that made me a “switch”—someone who finds equal enjoyment in being dominant and submissive.

“What is it, Princess?” Sel growled, scanning my face. “You have a strange expression.”

“Nothing,” I said, taking my hands off their arms and giving him a smile. “I was just feeling your feelings—that’s all.”

“Both of us? At once?” Krynn asked.

I nodded.

“It’s an interesting contrast. Now—do you think I’ll look good enough for the Banquet tonight?” I took a step back and twirled.

“Better than good enough,” Sel rumbled.

“You truly look like the Princess you are, my Lady,” Krynn assured me. “Your appearance is Royal in every way. There’s no way that Mordren can deny your claim to the throne.”

“No fucking way,” Sel agreed.

“I hope you’re both right,” I said, feeling anxious. I hadn’t seen the Lord Regent since I had run away from the Quenching Parlor the night before and I wasn’t sure how I was going to face him that night at the banquet. Still, I had my guys to support me and I had the Mark of Lolth as well as the Jewel of Lolth—and my own Royal Purple eyes.

I told myself I would just face him down and there was nothing he could do to stop me from taking the throne tomorrow on my birthday.

I had no idea how wrong I was, but I was soon to find out…

“Well, well, my dear—don’t you look Royal tonight.” Mordren’s sharp, bluish-purple eyes raked over me as Sel and Krynn escorted me to my seat at the High Table.

“Thank you, Lord Regent,” I said coolly, settling myself in the chair across from him. Lady Elgiana was beside him and Lady Nolana was to my right. I still hadn’t learned the other Nobles’ names, but they all nodded at me genially enough and I nodded back.
