I put a hand on our Lady’s forehead and nodded.

“A little, I think. Now in order to cure her Thirst-fever, we just have to undo the effects of the Mortal’s blood.”

“And how do we fucking do that?” he demanded, his irritation and worry spiking. “She already drank it. What are we going to do—make her throw it up?”

“That would be impossible even if we wanted to,” I pointed out. “Her body has already absorbed everything she drank.”

“Then what can we do?” he asked again. “I don’t understand.”

“Look, the Princess needs two things,” I told him, counting them off on my fingers. “Real Fae blood and sexual pleasure. You and I can give those things to her—that should cure her need, which is just the remains of the Thirst which is still unsatisfied.”

“You’d better let me give the blood, then,” Sel said, giving me a knowing look. “You’re close to the edge with your Needing—you were in a fucking lust-trance back in the Quenching Parlor. You would have let the Princess drain you dry and welcomed death if it came at her hand.”

I felt a bolt of shame rip through me and bowed my head for a moment. The Needing has never been easy to deal with but it cannot be gotten rid of either. It had been so many years since Lady Elgiana had infected me with the insidious disease, one would think I would have learned to deal with it by now. But no—I still felt shamed by the things it forced me to do…the things it forced me to desire.

“Hey, I’m sorry.” Sel put a hand on my shoulder and squeezed, offering an awkward apology. “I just know what you’re like at this time in your cycle. You don’t need to be giving blood right now.”

“You’re right.” I nodded and looked up. “To be honest, I would rather serve our Princess in other ways, anyway,” I told him. “Let me provide the pleasure while you provide the blood.”

“How do you want to do it?” he asked.

“Well, we—” I began.

But at that moment, the Princess’s eyelids fluttered open and she looked up at us, an expression of confusion in her Royal Purple eyes.

“What’s going on?” she whispered weakly. “Why am I all wet?”

“You’re wet because you’re in the tub, my Lady,” Krynn said gently, stroking my forehead. “Your temperature spiked and we had to cool you down.”

“Last thing I remember is flying on the back of a gi-normous dragon,” I murmured and frowned. “Wait…that must have been a dream.”

“That was no dream, Princess—you fainted in mid-air,” Sel said seriously. He and Krynn were both giving me worried looks. They were leaning over me and I realized I was floating in lukewarm water and also that I was completely naked. My modesty kicked in and I tried to cover myself with my hands and arms.

“Help me sit up!” I told them. “I need to dry off.”

“As you wish, my Lady.” Krynn put a hand behind my back and helped me sit while Sel wrapped his long fingers around my upper arm to hold me steady.

The sudden upward movement made the world spin around me and I put a hand to my head.

“I feel dizzy,” I said. “Give me a minute.”

“Take as long as you need,” Krynn said and Sel murmured agreement.

At last the spinning sensation stopped and I dared to open my eyes and look at them.

“What’s going on?” I asked. “You said I fainted? What’s wrong with me?”

“We think you have Thirst-fever, my Lady,” Krynn told me.

“Thirst-fever?” I frowned. “What’s that?”

“It happens when a Queen of the Royal line of Lolth quenches her Thirst with non-Fae blood. Or when she quenches her Thirst but doesn’t satiate the sexual need that comes with it,” Krynn explained.

“And in your case, you did both,” Seldarin pointed out.

“Ohhhh,” I groaned, as memories rushed back to me. “Did I really kill my ex?”

“I’m afraid so, my Lady,” Krynn said.

“But he had it fucking coming,” Sel growled. “So don’t feel bad about that. I was going to kill him myself if you hadn’t.”

“You were?” I looked up at the big Fae with wide eyes. “Why were you going to do that?”

“Because he hurt you,” he said simply. “I won’t fucking tolerate that. So he was a dead man walking—just remember that when you’re tempted to feel remorse for draining him. You gave him a better death than I would have.”

I wasn’t sure how to feel about the big Fae admitting he’d had Christopher on his hit list, but I was beginning to feel strange. I put my hand to my head again, noticing that my skin was hot to the touch. After a minute, I felt a tingling in my nipples. And then my pussy began to feel hot and achy and wet. What the hell?
