Taking a deep breath, Ace reached out, pulling open the door.

I didn’t know who it was.

What I did know was that he was incredibly handsome.

Darkly handsome, if that was a thing.

Tall, black hair, black eyes, incredible bone structure, wearing all black.

I wasn’t someone who, previously, really believed in “vibes.” But there was no denying that this man was practically vibrating with them.

Powerful ones.

His gaze moved around the room, taking in the faces that were seemingly mostly familiar to him, except when he looked at the women, at Dale in particular. When he spotted her sword, a devilish little smirk toyed with his lips.

“What’s the matter?” he asked, and his voice was pure sin. “Aren’t you happy to see your old boss, boys?”

No.

I mean… no way.

Their old boss?

They were demons.

They worked in Hell.

Was this man… the actual devil?

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Bael

I could feel her softening toward me.

And not just because of the orgasms. Though, yes, I was sure those helped. In no other way than to allow her to let down her guards, so she would allow herself to feel what was going on inside of her.

What was going on seemed to be… affection. Interest.

Not love.

Not yet.

But softness.

Something that could turn into love one day. If I was patient.

And I did have all the time in the world.

Unfortunately, in those critical moments after we both came and were feeling closer than ever before, the damned visitor decided to make his appearance.

For me, personally, all I felt was a distant sort of interest. Especially because Arick had felt the need to warn us of this person’s appearance, so it was likely a big deal.

I didn’t feel any sort of fear or uncertainty.

Until I heard Charlotte following me down the stairs, her face still flushed, her hair unkempt from the fucking.

The rush of protectiveness was something I’d only felt once before. When I’d heard, then seen, her getting attacked.

Every fiber of my being wanted to rush over to her, to wrap her in my wings, to usher her the fuck out of potential danger.

But then the door was opening.

And there was our prophesied visitor.

The fucking Devil himself.

The silence in that fucking foyer was loud as fuck as all of us just stood there, staring, not quite believing what we were seeing.

Because he never left Hell.

He… couldn’t even if he wanted to.

Yet there he was.

Standing in front of us.

It hadn’t been that long since I’d seen him myself. I mean, even shorter for him because of how time passed down there.

But for the guys like Ace who had been outed from Hell so long ago, sucked to Earth unwillingly through a Hellmouth, yeah, it had to be really fucking shocking to see the face of a man you never thought you would see again. Especially after Claiming a woman, and getting trapped on Earth with her.

“I was wondering where you’d gotten off to,” he said, looking at Ace. “And the rest of you,” he added, glancing around.

“We got sucked through Hellmouths,” Ace explained.

“I figured as much,” he agreed, nodding. “Bael,” he greeted me, giving me a familiar smirk. “I knew for sure your ass would never leave willingly. Your brother, on the other hand…” he said, glancing around again.

“He’s not here,” I explained. “He’s… missing at present.”

“Yes. There seems to be a lot of that going around. Is that a fire I smell?” he asked, shouldering in through the door, and moving into the library, warming his hands in front of the fire.

“You’ll get used to it,” Ace assured him. “It might take a few decades, but you’ll get used to the cold. Assuming you plan to stay.”

“Funny thing,” he said, nodding. “Hades himself showed up in my home, saying he wanted control again.”

“Was there a battle?” Drex asked.

“No.”

“No?” I asked, jerking back.

“I figured if someone else wanted to take on all that work, who was I to stand in his way. Besides, I hear human women are… quite satisfying. I can see that must be true,” he added, looking around at the women.

I shit you not, Ace, Drex, Minos, and my wings all shot out at the same time, reaching for our women. All of whom cuddled into the protection.

Save for Dale, who rolled her eyes at Minos as she pulled away, but she shot him a soft smile as she did it.

“Oh, a Demonslayer. In love with one of my men. How… interesting.”

“Do we call him Satan?” Charlotte whispered to me, her voice barely loud enough for me to hear.

But our boss, yeah, the man had acute hearing.

“Satan is fine. Devil. Beelzebub. Mephistopheles. Lucifer. Luce. The Morning Star,” he added with another of those smirks.

Devilish smirks.

This was where that term came from.

It was cocky and knowing and just a bit wicked, all in one.

Human women were going to be fucking tossing their panties at him.
