Spent, he laid his forehead against mine. I breathed through my nose, trying to catch my breath. We were both left breathless, and I couldn’t complain one bit.

Our love-making was explosive, something I needed and craved from Alessio. I knew he felt the same way.

I stared into his blue eyes as he remained sheathed inside of me. After a few seconds of silence, he pulled out, our mixed essence dripping out of me.

Alessio stared at me, his gaze lowering between my legs. “You look so fucking sexy right now. Your legs spread open with my cum dripping out. You look beautifully used, kitten.”

I blinked, a slow smile appearing on my face. Alessio leaned down and kissed me softly, gently and oh so sweetly.

“I love you, Angel.”

“I love you, Alessio.”

Our words were soft and whispered just to each other. A beautiful moment, something I would remember till the end of my days.

“I’ll let you sleep for now. But later…” His voice held a promise as my eyes closed sleepily.

I hummed as he turned us to our sides. With my back to his, he curled around me, holding me protectively and possessively in his embrace.

Epilogue

The next time I woke up, I was alone. The sunlight made its way into the bedroom, and I could hear the waves crashing from a distance.

Rolling around in bed, I looked for Alessio, but he was nowhere to be found. I shifted around, my muscles sore and refusing to move. I ached everywhere, but it was a good ache.

When I stood up, Alessio’s voice could be heard from downstairs. There was some clanging of dishes, and I smiled when realization dawned on me that my husband was in the kitchen.

Quickly getting in the shower, I washed myself and took a bath. After freshening up, I stepped out and stared at myself in the mirror.

My body was covered with Alessio’s marks. Whether it was from his kisses or his tight hold, I loved it. Loved the ownership he had of me. He made me feel that I belonged…and it was exactly that.

I was his.

And he was mine.

I wrapped a towel around myself and walked out of the room. My legs took me to the window, and I watched the ocean, the waves crashing together.

Such a beautiful, peaceful sight.

My throat clogged up, and tears blinded my vision.

I was happy. I was finally happy.

I felt him before I even saw him. His presence caused a tingling over my body. His arms went around my waist, and he pulled me into his body.

Resting my head against Alessio’s shoulder, I stared out.

“Thank you for bringing me here,” I said quietly. “You erased all the bad memories, Alessio. Not once did I get a chance to think about what had happened. You made me feel alive last night. You made me feel loved, adored, and cherished,” I continued, my hands going over his.

Alessio placed a soft kiss behind my ear. “You saved me, Alessio. You made me whole again.”

“I’m the one who should be saying that, Angel.”

“Thank you for loving me,” I continued.

“Never thank me for loving you, Ayla,” he replied.

Our hearts had chosen each other as their mates. There was no stopping it, and I was glad that Alessio and I hadn’t fought it.

I was still not healed. Not completely.

Sometimes nightmares still plagued my sleep. A few times, I still got panic attacks.

My past wasn’t something easily forgotten. It was etched deep inside of me. It was rooted to my core, no matter how much I tried to get rid of it.

But I was moving forward. I had learned how to push it away and focus on the good. On the happiness and love around me.

I would never be completely normal. Alberto had changed me…he had ruined that for me. He left his scars on my mind and body.

But with Alessio…I was whole. I could live and love.

And in return, Alessio had handed me his heart.

We were one.

I could finally be happy, and because of that, I would live the rest of my days loving with all my heart.

Turning around in his arms, I faced him.

We stared at each other.

Blue to green.

Alessio smiled down at me, my own smile widening.

“You are my Angel,” he whispered.

Yes, that I was.

I was his Angel just like he was my savior.

The start of it all…

The Mafia and His Angel.

THE END
