“Yes we are!”

“Okay so here’s what you do….”

Todd

“Caitie, what’s gotten into you?”

“Nothing…yet.” Oh shit, she straddled my hips and pressed her soft heat down hard against my growing hardness. I gritted my teeth and warned myself to take it easy. No way am I taking her virginity in a truck.

I’d barely eaten a quarter of my ice cream sundae when Miss. Hot to trot decided it was time to go. I thought she was mad at me for not agreeing with her and wanted to head back home, but instead found myself in a parked truck in the only place in town where everyone knows all the teenagers go to make out.

“Caitlin!” I knew what she was up to before she turned off the truck and pocketed the key, but I had no idea that she was going to go this far. I’ve been eyeing the clock since we left the house. Now I find myself trapped between her wants and her father’s expectations.

She didn’t give me much time to think because she took my head in her hands and her lips came down on mine, her tongue slipping past my lips before I could utter another syllable.

That quick, at the first taste of her soft lips against mine I went under. She was aggressive, in a take charge kind of way that I’d never seen from my quietly reserved girl before. She knew what she was doing when she pressed herself against me, the way she gripped my hair hard, as she rode her heat against mine making me damn near forget my own name.

I only came back to my senses when she needed air and took her lips away from mine. “Baby, we need to stop.” I didn’t dare bring up her dad because that seems to be the catalyst that had sent her into this…whatever this is.

I held her head in my hands, keeping her lips from mine as I looked into her eyes. Hers were fever bright with a look of passion that was almost hard to resist. I wanted to pull her in and lose myself in her, but had enough sense left to reel us both in.

“Why are you trying to cause a fight between your dad and me?” She sat back and sulked at me.

“I’m not, and why do you keep bringing him up?”

“I’m bringing him up Caitlin because he’s your dad. You and I both know what will happen if we don’t get back to your house in time. Is that what you want?”

She didn’t answer me, just tried to get off my lap and go back to the driver’s seat. Now I was the one stopping her, holding her in place. “Listen to me.” I turned her face back to mine. “If you want us to disobey your father my first night back I can do that. But are you ready to face the consequences?”

“Why are you so afraid of him? Other people miss curfew all the time. Besides, I’m of age, the age of consent in this state is sixteen.” Yes, but those people don’t have Colton Lyon as a father or future father in law. I didn’t say that out loud because it might not have the effect I was after.

“Babe, we’ve waited four years. Are you telling me that you can’t wait a little bit longer until I can do this right? What’s the rush all of a sudden?” Again she didn’t answer me.

“Do you think that I don’t love you, that I’m going to leave you and find someone else because we haven’t had sex? If I was going to do that I could’ve done it anytime within the last two years that we’ve been apart. I didn’t then and I won’t now; because you’re it for me.”

“Do you know why I won’t go against your dad? Why I won’t break any of his rules? It’s not because I’m afraid of him, it’s because I’m afraid of you losing him. There’re two ways for us to do this. We can buck against him; go our own way. The age of consent as you said is sixteen. But then what? Are you willing to have that rift between you and your dad for the rest of your life when we can wait just a little while longer and have it all?”

I tapped her hip when she didn’t answer. “I love that your dad loves you this much. I don’t ever want him to lose that light in his eyes when he looks at you. Don’t you get it? He’s the way he is because he loves you, and I follow his rules because I love you too. It’s the only way for me to win his trust so that he’d know you’re safe with me. I thought you knew this. I guess I was wrong.”
