Mulling over what Jimmy told me, I smiled, thinking about my next move. So little Addie was going to the restaurant where I proposed to her. Well, I was just going to have to make an appearance then.

It wasn’t easy living all these months without Addie. I dreamt of her every night, missing her soft warm body next to mine. While during the day, I would replay every moment I was with her.

I headed upstairs to my bedroom and closed the curtains. Yet again, another night without Addie, but it would only be a matter of time and she would be back in my arms, back in our home. I was going to make it up to her.

I walked into Eleven Madison Park and remembered the day I selected her engagement ring. Asking Addie to marry me was an experience I wasn’t ready for. I was nervous. It appeared the cold-hearted Damion had at last found his weakness. The one thing capable of bringing me to my knees. The girl was everything to me. When I went out looking for a ring, I had no clue what to look for until I saw it. It was an emerald. A soft green mixed with the elegant cut was the one. That was my Addie’s ring. I remember telling the sales clerk I wanted it. Her eyes nearly bugged out. “She a lucky lady.” She smiled giving me the bag.

“No. I'm the one who’s lucky,” I murmured when I left.

I headed to the bar through the crowded restaurant and ordered a whiskey neat. I looked around to see if I could see Addie. When I finally spotted her, my heart stopped. The little vixen wore a bright red dress, which hugged her body tightly. Her breasts come out like two little mounds ready to be devoured. Since when did my Addie ever wear something like that? She liked to blend in, not wanting anyone to notice her.

“Beautiful isn’t she?” an older gentleman next to me said as he glanced over to Addie. “I'm going to finish this drink and go over there. Got to try my luck.” He winked at me and downed his drink. My blood boiled as I saw images of me ripping him to shreds.

“Listen, buddy, can you do me a favor?” I asked, trying really hard not to punch the fucker in the face.

“What?” He grinned at Addie’s direction not looking at me.

“Stop eye fucking my wife?” I snarled.

“What?” The guy turned his head and took a small step back.

“Yeah, she’s my wife, asshole. So do me a favor and fuck off.” I stood and glared at him.

“Sorry, man, didn’t mean anything by it. She’s just—”

“Mine!” I snapped, left and headed straight for Addie,

She was staring at her plate not realizing I was there. I leaned into the chair in front of her and smiled.

“So I see you like this place,” I commented. She raised her head and smiled slightly.

“I did.” Her voice was quiet.

“Mind if I join you?” I sat down, not bothering to wait for her response.

“Would it matter if I said no?” she hissed.

“Not really.” I smirked. She was at her cutest when she was bothered. “I see you even reserved the same table.”

“What’s your point, Daimon?” She put down her fork and sat back into her chair.

“You came back into my life, not me, sweetheart,” I replied.

“Yeah, stupid me,” she muttered.

“So, why did you come here then?” I asked, knowing the reason.

“Why did you?” she threw the question back at me.

Of course, I would remember our anniversary. How could I forget how utterly gut wrenchingly beautiful she was in that wedding dress. Everything about that day was etched into my soul. The flowers and the music, even the song she chose for us to dance to. I wanted her to plan the day she wanted. I was taking enough away from Addie that I knew she deserved her day. I was just glad it happened the way she wanted.

I used the business deal I had going on in London to make her think she was on her own. I was busy with the merger; it did take longer than I thought and the deal was constantly changing. Thank God for Rafe. I would have seriously gone after the fuckers in London. They wanted more money every time we spoke. I remember how much I wanted to see Addie. For almost a week, I was gone. I’d never admit it to her, but being away from her, leaving her here alone, made me feel uneasy. I wanted to take her then and lock her away, keep her with me always.

“What are you smiling at?” she asked.

“Just remembering that day.”

“You remembering the day I planned all by myself, or late at night when you walked out?” she hissed.
