“Yes, I did everything Jace told me to. I’m probably going to be sorry I asked, but what’s that move about?”

“I have a few moves you are not going to want to know about. When my brothers uncover all I want them to see, I want all fingers to point to Riccardo.”

“Gio, what are you up to?”

“I’m making Riccardo’s moves before he can. That’s all. Just remember, I’m always in control.” He winks at me as he sits and fills three shot glasses.

Jace comes out in a pair of gray sweats. He takes a seat at the table while pulling his hair up. I watch as his muscles flex. He drags my laptop in front of him and grins as he looks at the reports I was just looking through.

“Great minds,” he says. “I just finished checking in.”

“Looks good, doesn’t it?”

“You guys talking about the numbers?” Gio asks after taking the food from the bag to divide it out for us.

“Yeah, I’m proud of what we’ve done.”

“What’s going on with—”

Gio’s phone rings on the table, he looks down at it and holds a finger up. “Hold on.” He picks up the phone and answers.

My mouth drops open as I watch this man change before my eyes. He goes from sounding happy and relaxed to sounding as if he’s on the edge of frustration.

“I was just about to call you,” he says into the phone as he answers. This man was not about to call anyone. I watch him become the puppet master right before my eyes. I purse my lips and fold my arms over my chest as I watch him in action.

By the time he hangs up, I don’t know whether I’m coming or going. I just watched him manipulate both his brothers with one call.

“Well, damn,” I breathe when he hangs up and goes right to eating his tacos as if nothing just happened.

That was the perfect act. He looks at me with a grin and winks. I look to Jace. He sits with the same grin. I shake my head and focus on my food. It’s not like I didn’t know what I was getting into with these two.

Jace

“Are you sure you want me to do this?” I ask Gio as I look him in the eyes.

Ny has already gone to bed. However, we’re still up, locking in our plans for tomorrow night. Once we get Dante to see Carleen, it’s my job to take her home. Home to Dario’s apartment, where Gio plans to set loose some of Vito’s guys.

The ones ready to follow Jackie and his new crew. Sorry to say, that crew is never going to happen. John has already asked Gio to take care of Jackie, giving some bullshit excuse.

We know it’s because Jackie supposedly gave Gio a heads-up. The gall of some of these guys. They’ll piss on your shoes while looking you in the eyes as they tell you you’re their best friend.

“I’m positive. You saw the look on her face. She was waking in that gym that day. This will be the push she needs, and I’ll handle John’s problem. Meanwhile, Vito won’t know what’s coming.”

“She’s pregnant.”

“Okay, what else do you want to tell me that I already know? You will be with her the entire time. If she doesn’t react, kill them all.” He shrugs.

“As you wish. I hope to God you’re right.”

“I am.”

I turn my focus back to my phone to answer Ming’s last question. However, the last message she sent grabs my attention. My blood starts to boil.

Because of Ny, we keep a close eye on the chat boards the gamers use, we keep tabs on anything that comes up for Judge Sin or Izzy Gunz. The rage I feel as I see Lizzy’s personal information has been posted almost makes my head explode.

“I’m going to kill him myself,” I seethe.

“What’s going on?” Gio asks, narrowing his eyes at me.

“Peter Hall. He just doxed Lizzy.”

I go to grab my laptop so I can work to remove the post. I’ve learned a bit of hacking from Ming. I’m not as good as Ny or the dolls on the team who we have just for that purpose, but I can handle this.

“Hold on, wait a minute,” Gio says. “I see an opportunity here. Two moves.”

“Gio.”

“No, Jace. Hear me out. Dante and Lizzy have been away for six weeks together, and I could tell in his tone earlier he hasn’t made a move. We know my brother, he’s protective by nature. If he thinks Lizzy is in danger, he’s more likely to stake his claim.”

“That’s her sister,” I bite out, pointing toward the bedroom where Ny is sleeping.

“And she’s like a sister to me. Do you think I’d allow anything to happen to her? She’s under Dante’s roof, with twenty-four seven armed security.
