When he dug his heels into my ass cheeks and begged for “more, harder, faster,” I delivered. I set him on the mattress, spread him open, and fucked him to the finish line. I roared with the force of my release three strokes later and collapsed on top of him, gasping for oxygen.

It was a minute or two before I thought I could move without assistance. I licked my lips as I disengaged and flopped next to him, staring at the ceiling until I could think of something coherent to say.

After a couple of minutes, I settled on, “We’re really good at that.”

Asher glanced sideways. “Yes, we are. This is a disaster.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means I’m not prepared to think of the consequences for my actions at the moment, but I have to know—were you lying about Star Wars?”

“No, I love it. Do you?” I reached for the coffee-stained tee I’d dropped on the floor earlier, then cleaned us up and disposed of the condom.

“Are you kidding? It’s only the coolest thing in the galaxy.” Asher sat up and pushed his glasses to the bridge of his nose. “No, excuse me…the universe.”

His enthusiasm was endearingly over-the-top. I could tell without delving too deeply that he was much more invested than I’d ever been, but I could definitely hold my own in this geeky realm. I listened with half an ear as I moved buck naked to my closet, rummaging through the stack of boxes I had yet to unpack. I found the one I wanted at the bottom of the pile.

“This is my personal geek box. It’s full of old memorabilia, comics, sci-fi books, posters, and voila! Lightsabers.”

I made a zroom sound as I unfurled the old blue sword and clicked the plastic blade into place. I struck galactic warrior-like poses, thinking he’d burst into laughter any second now. And I’d probably deserve it. I didn’t know any grown men who changed batteries in the toys from their childhood…just because.

Oh, yeah…and did I mention I was naked?

Asher didn’t laugh, though. His expression was somewhere between complete awe and lust. If we hadn’t just fucked, I’d swear he was ready for round two.

“Wow,” he hummed reverently when I handed him the toy.

I picked my boxers up off the floor, pulled them on, and snapped the elastic at my waist. “Is my collection of contraband geek stuff sufficiently embarrassing?”

“Embarrassing? I think not. This is dangerously enticing.”

I chuckled. “I take it you’re a mega fan.”

“Oh, yes. I became enchanted with outer space after watching Star Wars at a very young age…three or four. All the fighting went over my head, but I loved the idea of knights in space. And I wanted to know about the planets and the whole galaxy.” He set the lightsaber on the bed and pointed at the box. “Can I peek?”

“Help yourself.”

He put his briefs on, then sat cross-legged on the floor and riffled through the contents of the old box. Other than the occasional comment about the quality of the print or the condition of a comic, he was quiet. Moreover, he was relaxed…truly and utterly at ease. The way people were when they were surrounded by things that made them happy.

It was kind of…adorable.

I sat beside him on the carpet, turning the pages of an old paperback, clandestinely watching Asher. I didn’t know him well enough to compare his uptight self with this uber-chill geek, but I noticed that he didn’t seem to care that he’d put his briefs on without washing or even sponge-bathing after sex. And sitting on the floor next to an unmade bed and dirty clothes strewn about didn’t seem to faze him. I had a feeling I’d stumbled upon clues to this mysterious man.

He sifted through that old box for an hour or more, and if his stomach hadn’t rumbled noisily, I bet he’d have stayed another hour.

“Hungry?” I winced as I stood. My legs were cramped from sitting for so long. I stretched my arms above my head, then offered him a hand. “I have sandwich meats or—”

“No, thank you. I should go. I’ve stayed far too long and did all the things I told myself I wouldn’t. But…I regret it a little less knowing you’re a fellow space enthusiast.”

“To be perfectly honest…since that’s what I’m trying to do here—I don’t know much about space. I liked being transported to places that didn’t look or seem anything like my hometown when I was a kid. That’s all,” I commented.

“Hmm. I understand.” Asher gathered his clothes and arranged them on the bed before surveying the room. “Why is it so messy now? Everything was clean the last time I was here.”

“I wasn’t expecting company today, wise guy.”

“So, you’re usually messy?”

“It’s not all that messy. I just didn’t make the bed. Do you make yours every day?” I held my hand up. “Never mind. I think I know the answer.”
