“Hurry up and wash yourself, Kaliah. Or I could scrub your back if you want me to.” Colt called from the other side.

She had no doubt he’d do exactly that if she didn’t get moving. For now, she’d have to do what he told her to do because he might seem calm now, but there was no telling what would happen if she disobeyed.

Hanging on the shower head, was a tray with all the hygiene accessories she needed to clean herself. Keeping all of her weight on her good foot, she moved directly under the shower spray, allowing all the caked on mud to wash away.

Even in this dire circumstance, getting clean made her feel a little better. She scrubbed her skin as hard as she could, making sure to wipe away the blood, mud, urine and grime from her body.

She washed her hair with the soap that smelled of fresh fruit and perfume. It wasn’t ideal to wash her hair in this manner with braids, but she had no choice. By the time she finally cleaned them to her satisfaction they felt heavy on her head.

She stayed in under the warmth of the spray for as long as she dared.

“It sounds like you’re finished in there.”

Her heart pounded so hard, she was certain anyone listening could hear it. “Could you please give me a few more minutes?”

“You smell pretty clean to me. And like I said, my brothers are waiting. It’s time to get out of the shower.

He pulled back the shower curtain, turned off the water and held out a towel to her. “Here. If you’re worried about your modesty, use this.”

“Thank you.” She gratefully accepted the towel and wrapped herself up in it. Once the towel was secured, Colt scooped her into his arms.

He carried her out of the bathroom where they were met with two men that practically took up the entire hallway. She thought Colt was huge but these two were larger than life.

The larger of the two had long black hair and the other, had wavy russet colored hair. They both had the same startling green eyes that Colt had.

The one with the russet hair approached with a wide grin. “I told you, I’d find you little rabbit.”

Kaliah screamed.

CHAPTER 12

She screamed until her voice cracked.

The voice wasn’t as gravely but it sounded nearly identical to the monster who tormented her the night before.

Colt cradled her against him. “It’s going to be okay, Kaliah. These are my brothers.”

She buried her face in his chest. Only moments ago she was sacred of this man but now she was seeking his protection.

“Look at me,” her tormentor commanded.

She shook her head and squeezed her eyes shut.

“Look at me!” he barked.

An intangible force Kaliah couldn’t explain, compelled her to raise her head and look at the man directly.

He moved closer and she froze and her breath caught in her throat. He didn’t look like a monster. Besides, the thickness of his eyebrows and the stubble covering the lower half of his face, he wasn’t as hairy as he’d appeared the night before. Had she imagined everything?

Like his brother Colt, he was attractive with wavy hair that fell just below a square jawline, sharp nose and plump lips. Her gaze remained on those lips for an uncomfortably long time until they curled into a wide smile. His canine teeth were longer than normal giving him an almost sexy vampire like appearance.

He brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. She flinched. Not from fright but because of some electric sensation that coursed down her spine when he touched her. There was something connecting her to this man and she didn’t understand it.

She started to shiver. “What’s…happening to me?” she whispered when their eyes locked.

“You feel it too don’t you? When I marked you last night, I established a bond between us.”

“Bond?” she repeated the word not understanding any of this.

“Yes. As they say in Serenity Falls, you are the perfect piece of meat and I’ve been waiting for you for a very long time.” The intensity of Leland’s stare held her captive and she couldn’t look away if she wanted to.

Colt bent down and ran his tongue along her earlobe. “We all are.”

The big guy who had been standing in the background, cleared his throat and stepped forward. “I need her. I’m not waiting any longer.”

His ominous words broke the trance Kaliah was in and she looked in his direction. This giant of a man was even bigger than Colt and Leland. What the hell did they feed the men in Serenity Falls?

Colt and Leland were handsome, no doubt but this giant of a man was…beautiful. Kaliah couldn’t describe him any other way. His long black hair hung past his shoulders. His plush red lips were formed into a natural pout and his cheekbones were prominent. His bright green eyes were framed by the longest, curliest lashes she’d ever seen on a man. His dark brows were thick but finely arched, almost as if they were manicured in a salon.
