“Can I help you with something, little monster?”

Goose bumps spread across my skin.

Yes, I want you to kiss me again.

“Just thought I’d pop my head in to say hello before my—er, before I head home.”

He looks up, and his black eyes focus on me. Something moves through his expression, but I can’t make it out. It almost feels like he knows I’m lying to him.

Is that because he knows I’m dancing in the peep show in thirty minutes?

And does he know that because he is my mysterious client?

In my heart, I know it’s him.

“I heard what happened,” I say.

He cocks an eyebrow. “What happened?”

“With the new girl. Is it true?”

Damn, why did that come out sounding so jealous?

He picks up on it, and sits back in his chair. “Is what true?”

“That she took off her clothes and propositioned you?”

A small smile tugs at the corner of his lips. “There was some removal of clothes.”

It’s a poor choice of words, because in my head, I see both of them removing clothes and making out, and it drives me crazy with jealousy. It’s so irrational and ridiculous, yet tell that to my mind. Maybe Natalie and Elsa got it wrong, and something happened. Which sends another bout of insanity into my brain.

“And did anything happen?” I ask.

I can’t keep the possessiveness out of my tone, and Massimo can tell, and I think he likes it. He rises to his feet.

“She offered me something I wasn’t interested in,” he says.

He walks around his desk, moving like a hunter stalking his prey, and I know I want him to catch me and devour me wildly. I’m in a perpetual state of arousal around him, and I’m done with holding back.

I want him to slide everything off his desk with one swipe of his arm like they do on TV and then fuck me on it.

I want to know what he sounds like when he fucks.

I want to see his cock and feel it break me open.

Dear God, I’m so turned on, I can’t hide it.

It’s like the lock has been broken, the dam holding my emotions at bay collapsing under the sheer weight of them. I don’t want to hold back anymore. But I need to know if he wants me.

“Is there something you want to tell me, little monster?”

His growly voice is my own personal aphrodisiac.

“Yes, last night I invited you in, and you turned me down, and now hot young girls are taking their clothes off in front of you, and it makes me think I made this all up in my head. That this thing between you and me isn’t real, that I made it up.”

He walks toward me, and I back up until the back of my thighs hit his desk. I look away because I feel like my feelings are exposed enough, and he doesn’t need to see the confirmation of my feelings for him in my eyes.

He lifts my chin. “Every part of me wanted to spend the rest of the evening with you last night. You have to believe me when I say walking away was hard. I wanted to turn around and come back the moment I left the building.”

“I wish you had.”

He leans closer until all I can see is his face and those full kissable lips.

“You want to know why I walked away?” he asks as the tips of his fingers roam my face and his gaze warms my cheeks.

“Yes, I want to know why you don’t want me.”

“Oh, I want you, little monster. I want you so badly I’m barely holding on.”

“But?”

“You deserve better than this,” he says, his gentle fingers caressing my jaw.

Our lips are close. I lick mine in anticipation, aching for him to kiss me.

I can see the battle in his eyes.

“But I want you,” I whisper.

The muscle in his jaw ticks, and if it’s possible, his eyes darken further. He’s fighting a good battle, but he’s losing.

“But it can’t happen,” he says.

Shit. He’s rejecting me again.

The hurt sinks into me like a weight in water.

“Bianca, I have to tell you something.”

I push him away. “No, I don’t want to hear it.”

I try to move away but he stops me. “You need to hear this.”

“No, I need you to leave me alone. You’ve made it clear.”

“Nothing is clear until you hear me out.”

“Let go of me.”

With perfectly bad timing, Matteo walks in. “Fuck, sorry,” he says, shielding his eyes.

Massimo closes his eyes and lets out a rough breath.

“I can come back at a better time,” Matteo says.

“No, I have to be somewhere.” My cheeks are warm. Hell, my whole body is on fire.

And I can’t get out of there quick enough.

MASSIMO

I keep telling myself to not attend tonight’s peep show.

That she won’t know I’m not there, and she’ll still get paid.
