He growls with appreciation. “Keep digging your claws in, hellcat, and I’ll show you how savage I can be.”

Another deep thrust kisses the back of my womb.

“Do your worst, demon.”

My wrists slap the floor above my head as he pins them to the floor and drives his cock into me. He wants to come. I can see it on his face. He’s fighting it. But he won’t let himself. Not until I do.

Which won’t take long.

He grinds his pelvis into me, setting light to every raw nerve ending in my clit.

God, why does this feel so good when it’s so very wrong?

“I hate you,” I whisper as if I need to remind myself.

"Don’t lie, you fucking love me," he rasps, stroking his cock thick and hard into me.

I clench around his cock, close to coming. “I don’t love you. I like fucking you. That is all.”

He responds by thrusting deeper and harder, his balls slapping my pussy and detonating my orgasm as he growls, “That’s good enough for now.”

“Call Cian the Violent and organize a meeting,” I growl from behind my desk in my office.

It’s the day after my wedding, and instead of lying on some beach somewhere, fucking my bride until we’re too weak to walk, I’m here, dealing with this shit.

While I was busy getting married, the Irish decided to decimate one of our warehouses on the waterfront. They blew it sky high like it was the Fourth of July.

It was a message. Pay attention.

“You’re going to sit down with that crazy son of a bitch?” Massimo frowns.

“The Irish are moving in, and the Russians aren’t far behind them. I need this sorted out now. No more fucking around.”

“Cian the Violent can’t be trusted,” Mateo says.

“He’s going to have to show some trustworthiness because my patience is running out. He either sits down with me, and we work something out, or he dies. I’m feeling generous, so I’m giving him the choice. Meet me or don’t meet me. The former would bode better for him.”

“You’re seeking a truce?” Massimo sounds incredulous.

“I’m seeking a business arrangement,” I say calmly. “The Irish want in—they can have in. For a price. Let’s reach out to the Russians as well. Call Vicktor Voltan and invite him to the meeting. It’s time to spread the love.”

“I will get the messages out,” Mateo says, rising to his feet. “When do you want to meet with them?”

“Sooner rather than later.”

“The Restaurant?” he asks.

The Restaurant is an abandoned café on the waterfront and is considered neutral territory between all rival crime syndicates. As a matter of honor, no blood is to be spilled there. Breaking the sanctity would mean death for everyone involved.

Mateo nods and leaves the room, leaving me alone with my brother.

“Married two minutes and you’re throwing offers of truce around like candy,” he mutters.

“Marriage has nothing to do with it. This is business. And moving forward, this is the only way.”

“How is Bella, by the way?” He picks up a bronze paperweight from my desk and begins studying it.

“Probably at home planning my murder because I’m here and not there,” I reply, taking it from him and putting it back where he found it.

“No honeymoon?”

“We’re flying to London tomorrow to pack up her old life and bring her belongings back home.”

The sooner we can put that chapter behind us, the better. I know Bella still harbors some insecurity because of that ridiculous idiot Simon. Let her forget that part of her life and grow stronger at my side.

“Sounds romantic,” Massimo deadpans.

“It’s not supposed to be. It’s pragmatic. Now that she’s my wife, it’s time she moves her life back to the US for good.”

“But you’re developing feelings for her,” he states, matter-of-factly.

“She’s the bane of my existence,” I say dryly.

“That you have feelings for.”

“I wouldn’t call not wanting to tape her mouth closed with electrical tape and locking her in a room every time she opens her mouth developing feelings for her,” I say flatly. “I barely tolerate her.”

If my brother was the eye-rolling type, he’d be doing it now. But he isn’t. He simply gives me one of those pointed looks that makes me feel like I’m the younger brother who has much to learn.

“She’s getting to you,” he says, knowingly.

Of course she is. I can’t seem to keep my hands off her.

“Yes, she’s getting on my nerves on a daily basis,” I lament. “Can we forget about Bella and talk about this meeting with the Irish and the Russians?”

“Ah yes, the meeting. Two months ago, you would have declared war on both factions, and now you’re offering to buy them lunch.”

“Now that we’re aligned with the Isle Ciccula, they know trying for the East Coast would be a foolish move. They won’t win, and their camps would be decimated in the process. Last night’s attack was the death rattle. Their final show of power fizzled like a dead skyrocket at launch.” Leaning my elbows on my desk, I rub my temples. “Me offering them a small piece of the pie is the cherry on top to ensure they don’t try again and waste all of our time.”
