“Fuck you, bitch.”

She raised her hand and slapped him across the face. Spit flew from his mouth and onto his sweat-slick chest.

“You like beating up women, you piece of shit?”

He snarled at her. “I loved every second.”

She punched him in the jaw. He groaned as his head turned to the side.

I stood beside the Knights with a proud smile plastered on my face. My girl didn’t have an ounce of fear in her eyes. For the first time in her life, she looked strong, powerful—like a Queen.

“My only regret is that we didn’t take turns fucking you.” Cal’s eyes found mine. “The Carver will come for her,” he told me. “And when he does, you will wish he gave her a quick death.”

“I’ll be waiting,” I told him. “Send whoever you want after us. He won’t get near Alex.”

Cal’s laughter floated through the room. “You won’t even see him coming. It will be too late.”

We still had no leads on the identity of the man they called The Carver. But I had a good guess who might show up on our special day. Our Italian friends would be in attendance and packing heat. But The Carver had the element of surprise.

Alex went back to making deep cuts, slicing Cal’s skin with fury. I’d never seen her look more focused, not even when she created one of her Devil’s paintings.

“I can’t believe you’re letting Alex do this,” Aiden whispered in disbelief. “She’s not like us.”

I angled my body to look at him. “You don’t know your sister as well as you think.”

“This isn’t the girl I know.” He pointed at Alex, covered in Cal’s blood, her white shirt stained red. “She’s supposed to be the good twin. All the things I did were for her. So she wouldn’t have to become like us.”

I raised my hand. “Silence.”

We watched for over an hour as Alex stripped Cal of his humanity. She looked as if she would never stop, and this had gone on long enough. With The Carver out there, we didn’t have time to waste. So I moved behind her, my cock rock hard from watching her in action.

I pressed my length into her ass as I hooked one arm around her, using my other hand to help her hold the knife. “We need to finish this, baby.”

“I’m not done,” she groaned. “He held me captive for days, torturing and drugging me every chance he got. He doesn’t deserve a quick death.”

This wasn’t fast by any means. Cal bled from every place on his body, slow and painful. Pieces of his skin hung from his body like leaves from a tree. I never thought Alex was capable of something so vile. I did shit like this all the time, but not Alex. She was better off painting and designing new worlds with her mind.

I gripped Alex’s hips and moved us closer to Cal. His eyes were closed, his head tilted to the side. He’d passed out from the pain twenty minutes before the last cut.

I brushed my lips against her ear. “We’ll finish this together. Okay?”

She sighed. “Okay.”

Holding her back against my chest, I used my other hand to clutch her wrist and cut a straight line across Cal’s throat. Blood shot out from various places, splashing across our clothes and faces. Alex turned her head to wipe her face on my suit jacket.

“It’s over, baby,” I whispered.

Alex dropped the scalpel onto the floor, panting hard as she spun around to face me. Her eyes roamed over the men in the room with us. She looked feral, covered head-to-toe in the blood of our enemy—a real-life version of her Devil paintings.

“Now I get it,” she muttered. “Fuck, that felt good.”

The Knights howled with laughter, though Aiden looked as if he wanted to slit my throat for letting Alex take Cal’s life. She deserved retribution for what they did to her. This was her kill, not mine.

Aiden crossed his arms over his thick chest and leaned against the wall, his eyes on his twin sister. “How did I not see it?”

Alex cocked an eyebrow at him, confused by his question. “What?”

“I thought I needed to protect you from him. But you’re…”

“Just like him?” Alex said without hesitation. “Yeah, I guess so. I didn’t realize how much until after you left me behind.” Aiden tensed at her words. “I would have done just about anything to find you.”

“And I’ll spend the rest of my life apologizing for leaving you.”

“After spending days in the hands of psychos, I thought about killing them every time they touched me. I needed this, Aid.”

“I’m sorry,” he groaned. “This is my fault. You wouldn’t have come looking for me if I hadn’t screwed up. It would never have come to this if…”

“It’s okay, Aiden.” She stretched out her arms. “I’m alive. He can’t hurt me anymore.”
