My curious logic had Russie’s eyes going wide. “He is very nice.”

Bingo.

“Should we find a Spiderman cartoon later?” I wasn’t sure what our plans for the day should be, but it seemed like a good start.

Russie nodded, but his gaze searched the room for something as I slipped the T-shirt over his head. “I have Spiderman.”

Somewhere.

He had Spiderman somewhere in the piles of toys sprinkled around the room.

As he tried to decide where he’d organized away Spiderman, I quickly exchanged the sexier-than-he-probably realized sweats for Spiderman undies that matched the shirt and red shorts that pulled the whole outfit together.

Russie liked to match.

It was adorable and the way he had all his clothes hanging by outfit made getting him dressed much easier, so I definitely approved.

“All set.” Kissing his cheek as he beamed and immediately forgot the toy dilemma, I quickly put the rest of the clothes back in the closet and took his hand. “We’ll find Spiderman later, right now, my tummy is growling.”

He giggled, nodding excitedly. “Mine too, Daddy.”

“Then that’s definitely the first thing we’re going to fix.” But we needed a distraction for the cutie. “Do you have a Spiderman coloring book?”

That was clearly a dumb question judging by the look on Russie’s face as he nodded.

I was going to have to work on being smarter, but that could wait until after I’d eaten and found more caffeine. “Then let’s grab that and you can make me a picture while I make us breakfast.”

“Picture for Daddy.” Russie skipped through the playroom, bouncing over piles of toys as he led us to the living room.

As he repeated his new catchphrase over and over, he plopped himself down by a bookshelf and pulled out the basket where the coloring books lived. “Here he is, Daddy.”

Pulling out the well-loved coloring book and a box of crayons, Russie sprang up from the floor, still completely ignoring what was under his clothes. “All set.”

“Good boy.” That deserved more head kisses which made him giggle and smile even wider. “Breakfast time.”

Because I needed food, and hopefully, more coffee to figure out what we were going to do next and if I needed to shift us back to grown-up Ruslan mode at some point.

He seemed fine, just hiding from the reality of his desires, but I’d have felt more confident about the whole thing if he’d been willing to talk just a tad bit more.

But the whole thing had been his idea.

He’d laid it out.

He’d texted me about it.

He’d been up at the crack of dawn going over his limits list.

Yes, there wasn’t anything I could irrationally worry about at the moment.

Russie was happy and bouncy and hungry, and not willing to talk about the cock cage he’d wanted to wear.

We could work with that.

“I have a big blank wall in my room that could use some decorations on it.” I kissed his head as he sat down at the table, spreading his coloring book and crayons out. “What do you think if I put some of your pictures up but didn’t tell anyone who colored them?”

I wasn’t sure if that would be too much conversation for Russie to handle, but he shrugged as I started moving around the kitchen to make breakfast.

“I’m a good colorer, Daddy.”

He was confident too.

“I agree. That’s why I wanted your pictures.” I did another drive-by head kiss as I went from the pantry to the fridge. “And they’ll make me smile when I think about you.”

“Daddies should think about their boys.” Russie logic seemed very firm on this and he didn’t see any issues with it as he picked out a bright red crayon. “The best pictures get frames, Daddy.”

Well, that sealed the deal.

I was going to get pictures as long as they were appropriately appreciated. “You’re right. I need to make sure I can show them off and keep them safe.”

“Yes.” Nodding seriously, Russie frowned as he started working on Spiderman. “Daddy thinks I’m special.”

“That’s right.” I wasn’t sure what he was thinking about or if he was reassuring himself or me, but I did my best. “Your Daddy thinks you’re the most special boy and he likes being able to come over and have pancakes.”

Russie relaxed and smiled, a low giggle escaping as he started shuffling his feet back and forth. “I liked using the buttons to talk with Daddy.”

“Daddy liked it too.” Even if his curious boy had woken him up at a ridiculous hour.

But Daddies didn’t get to sleep in when curious subs needed attention…no matter what that looked like.

They did, however, get smiles and hugs and pictures for their walls, so they were well compensated for their struggles.

Chapter 13

Ruslan

“Russie?” Daddy had a very Daddy sound in his voice, so I looked extra special sweet when I smiled at him.

Good boy.

I was Daddy’s good boy. “Yes, Daddy?”
