As I walk toward her little blue compact car, I take several deep breaths to calm my raging desires. The five-minute drive in cold, wet clothes did nothing to ease the hunger roaring through my blood. Hadley points her finger and tells the little fur ball to behave, and my hardness grows. My fucking cock thinks she’s talking to him. “I’ll be right back, Luv Bug.” She puts a crack in the window and hops out of the car, holding a large bouquet of roses. Man, Rulie truly screwed the pooch. And now he’s paying for it—that arrangement had to set him back a few bucks.
“Thank you for showing me the way.” She walks up to me and smiles. I nearly groan as my erection grows even harder.
“My pleasure, kitten.” I place my hand on her lower back and feel a tremor run through her curvy frame. Satisfaction slams into me as we walk up the brick steps. “Gloria,” I call out when I open the front door.
The club’s housekeeper-slash-pseudo-mother comes rushing out the kitchen. “Cash.” Gloria smiles. “I didn’t know you were bringing company over.” Her eyes light up when she sees Hadley standing beside me. “Oh my God, what happened to you?” She gasps after noticing my disheveled state. I give Gloria a brief overview of the situation before Hadley hands the flowers to her.
“Sorry they’re later than we promised Mr. Davis when he called earlier.” My little kitten shrugs. “I got lost, then I had a flat tire, and Cash stopped to help me,” she rambles on adorably.
“Don’t apologize, my dear. You shouldn’t have come out in this storm just to deliver flowers.” Gloria waves off her apology. “These are beautiful.” She smiles and places them on the side table.
While she reads the card, I turn to Hadley. “Now, about that date you promised me.” There’s no way I’m letting her leave here without concrete plans.

HADLEY
Swallowing, I attempt to catch my scattered wits. In the dark, he was gorgeous. Now that I see him under the harsh lights inside the clubhouse, I realize this man is stunning. My girly parts tingle as I stand mere inches from the most handsome man I’ve ever seen. The wet clothing clinging to his massive body leaves little to the imagination.
“When are you free for dinner?” As his dark brown eyes smile down at me, my mind turns to mush.
“Friday night?” I blurt out my first thought. Great job. Way to play hard to get.
“Great.” His eyes light up as he smiles, and I feel eagerness zinging through my veins. “Give me your phone number, and I’ll call you once I have our plans set.”
My stubborn side kicks in as I remember his earlier arrogant attitude. “But I really want to pay you for all the trouble. And you don’t have to take me to dinner.”
I feel like a bug under a microscope as he stares down at me silently for a few seconds. Shock runs through me when he reaches out to tuck a strand of my long blonde hair behind my ear.
“You don’t owe me a thing.” He leans close and my pulse runs away. “But I would like the chance to get to know you. Please let me take you to dinner?”
It’s the please that does it. My ability to resist him evaporates, and my hormones take control.
“Okay,” I agree.
After we exchange numbers, he tells me, “It’s getting late. I’ll drive you home.” I open my mouth to argue, but he places a finger against my lips. “It’s rainy and you aren’t familiar with the roads.” He shakes his head. “There’s no way I’m letting you drive alone on a spare tire.”
Gloria waves bye and smiles. “I’m sure I’ll see you soon.” She winks as we walk out the door.
Luv Bug grumbles and turns her little head away when I stop by my car to grab her. Cash walks up, asking, “What do you want to take?”
I point at my purse. “That’s all I need.”
He leads me back to his SUV and helps me up into the massive thing. Luv Bug growls, and my breath catches when Cash leans over me to hook the seatbelt. His warm, masculine scent wraps around me, heating my insides and turning my brain to goo. “Shush,” I tell my pooch. When Cash sits in the seat next to me, I take a deep breath and attempt to calm my raging hormones while petting my dog to soothe her ruffled feathers.
My sluggish mind somehow functions enough for me to keep up with the conversation as we drive to Silver Spoon Falls. Cash promises to return my car to me once he has my tire repaired. This whole situation is crazy. I went out to deliver flowers tonight and ended up meeting the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen. As he drives, I give him instructions to the apartment I share with my sister above Petal Pushers. He insists on walking me to the door and places a soft kiss on my lips. “I’ll see you soon, kitten.” He smiles down at me.
