“I missed this weather,” Aiden said as he drew in a long, deep breath. I tried like hell not to notice his massive chest expanding even more with the large intake of air. When he closed his eyes, I imagined what it would feel like to run my fingers through his hair and kiss his eyelids.

With a shake of my head, I broke the stupid spell and pushed away my silly thoughts. What in the world came over me when Aiden O’Hara was within ten feet?

“Aiden, did you want to drive with me to my folks’ house?” Hunter asked.

“No, I’ll drive separately in case you want to stay longer.”

“I thought you said you didn’t have plans today,” I said, immediately regretting it when all three of them looked at me. Kyle wore a bemused expression, while Hunter’s brows pinched together ever so slightly.

A slow, crooked smile moved over Aiden’s face, and I felt my lower stomach tighten.

“Well, I need to unpack and take care of some things, nothing important. I simply don’t want to make Hunter rush while visiting your folks.”

“Right. Of course. I wasn’t trying to be nosy,” I quickly said with a half shrug of my shoulder.

Kyle and Hunter were currently staring at me.

“What?” I asked.

Both of them looked away and mumbled, “Nothing.”

Aiden cleared his throat. “So, I’ll follow you over, Hunter?”

Hunter nodded, gave me one last concerned glance, then clapped Kyle on the back. “See you at work tomorrow.”

Kyle grinned as he looked at me. “Kiss Ben for me.”

“I will,” I replied, giving Kyle a quick hug.

“See you guys later,” Kyle said and lifted his hand in a wave goodbye. Both Hunter and Aiden said their goodbyes, too, and then turned back around.

“Where are you parked?” Hunter asked me.

“I’m parked right down the street in front of the bookstore. Corner of Maple and Main.”

Aiden turned to me. “See you in a few?”

I nodded. “Be careful driving, both of you.”

Hunter kissed me on the cheek and then they both started down Main. I wasn’t sure why I stood there and watched them walk off, but I’m glad I did, because it gave me the chance to see Aiden glance back over his shoulder.

Lifting my hand, I waved. He smiled and then turned back.

“Oh Lord, why does that smile still make my knees weak?” I said out loud.

“Because he’s fucking gorgeous,” a voice replied.

I nearly screamed as I clutched my chest and spun around to see Bree standing there, a cup of what was most likely to-go coffee in her hands.

“You scared the shit out of me, Bree!”

She smiled. “Sorry. But it was hard not noticing you noticing him as he walked away.”

I scowled at her. “I wasn’t noticing him.”

Her eyes flickered back to the two retreating men. “You’re right. You were gawking at his fine ass as he walked away.”

“Was not!”

She looked back at me. “What are we, two now? Why don’t you stomp your foot while you’re at it?”

Rolling my eyes, I glanced back at Hunter and Aiden. “I need to go. I have to pick up Ben at my folks’ house. Are you heading back to Boston?”

Bree smiled and pulled in a deep breath. “Nah. I think I’ll stay here another few days. My folks are painting some of the bedrooms at the inn, and I told them I would help.”

I couldn’t help but notice the difference in her today. She looked…well-satisfied.

“Is that a scruff burn on your neck?” I asked, one brow lifted.

Bree placed her fingers on her neck, lightly moved her fingertips over the skin, and then grinned. “I’m sure I have scruff burns all over my body. The man is thorough, being a cop and all.”

I felt my lip move up into a snarl. “Gross. That’s my brother.”

Bree glanced around and then pulled me down the street by the arm. “Come on, I parked behind you.”

I couldn’t help but giggle as we walked arm in arm down Main Street then turned right onto Chestnut. “So? What happened after I left last night?”

Bree did a little hop, cursing when a bit of her coffee came out of the lid. She took a sip and then dropped her head back and sighed. “Oh, Willa. Your brother is very sweet.”

“Sweet?” I asked in a disbelieving voice. “Hunter, sweet?”

“Yes! We danced and talked and danced some more. He was so polite, and then I started yawning like a damn fool because I was honestly exhausted. Hunter asked if he could escort me home.”

Laughing, I stopped walking. “Wait, did he say escort you home?”

She nodded. “Yes! Then he walked me up to the door and asked if he could give me a kiss good night.”

I smiled as we started to walk once more. “That was sweet of him.”

“I know!” Bree said, her voice all dreamy.

We walked for a few feet in silence before I said, “And? Then what happened?”
