Alix’s eyes closed and he felt her answering release as she let go. She held onto his hips as she rode the wave of her release and she looked stunning as she did this. So open, so alive. Her body had a beautiful red flush all over. Even her cheeks and lips seemed to be redder than he remembered. Every part of her was completely ripe, ready to fuck.

He felt an answering tightness in his own cock. Her release once again awakened his cock, but he wouldn’t give in to it. No, his cock would learn that he was boss, and there was no way he was succumbing to the intoxication that was Alix.

The following day it was raining. Sofia was so upset because they had hoped to go on a picnic. The rain hadn’t been forecast and Alix was a little perturbed with the weatherman for getting it wrong.

Staring down at the sleeping girl, she pulled a blanket from the chair and placed it over the little one. She made sure she was sleeping soundly and then got to work cleaning up the mess they had made. When they were outside playing, she didn’t need to worry about the few toys they could bring in with them once they were finished, but inside, they created a little bit of a mess. Actually, not even a little. This was a lot of mess. Toys were everywhere, but Sofia had a lovely time, and because of that, Alix didn’t mind.

Being inside meant it was a little harder to wear out Sofia. The young girl was full of beans. She was a total joy to be around. In fact, Alix couldn’t recall another moment in her life being this happy, which was so freaking strange. She was, for all intents and purposes, Dmitry’s hostage, his current possession so he didn’t kill her now ex-husband. But she was the happiest she could remember being.

Strange. So strange. And weird. She couldn’t forget her favorite word to describe herself.

Now that she had opened the doors to Dmitry, she couldn’t help but think about last night. He still hadn’t told her what he wanted from her. No answer as to what he expected—whether she was just a nanny he screwed, or if there was something going on with them. Did she even want to put a label on what they could or couldn’t be? It was driving her crazy.

She paused in picking up Sofia’s toys to rub at her temple. She felt the beginnings of a headache and it was all Dmitry’s fault. If he told her they were just fucking, then fine. She could handle that.

Glancing over at Sofia, she knew she was already attached to the little girl. Not that it had taken long. Sofia was a sweetheart, a beautiful kid with a heart of gold. She absolutely loved life and people, as well as animals.

For over an hour, they had sat in the sitting room as Sofia had pointed at all the dogs she hoped to own one day. There had been a Jack Russell, cocker spaniel, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Dachshund, Saint Bernard, German Shepherd, in fact, the girl had pointed to every single breed of dog in the book and simply stated she wanted each one. She had a feeling the moment Sofia unleashed all her cuteness, Dmitry had no chance.

Sofia had asked her if she ever had a dog, and Alix never had. Her parents didn’t want a pet, and they were quite costly and as she got older, her life didn’t fit with having a dog. She would love a dog, though. Like Sofia, she loved animals. Often, more so than people.

Now, she thought about Dmitry and how big of an asshole he’d been last night. Not only had he not answered her questions, but after they had fucked, he’d eased her off him, grabbed her robe, and told her to leave his office. Alix knew he was being a dick on purpose. She didn’t even know why she knew that. Instead of arguing with him, though, she had slid the robe on and left his office without a word.

He was a moody bastard. There she was, cursing in her mind, but she wouldn’t say it aloud to him. Hell, no.

She stepped on one of the small dollhouse toys and closed her eyes, clenching her hand into a fist. She wouldn’t cry. Ouch. Son of a bitch. She lifted her foot up and sure enough, stuck to the bottom was a small piece. Thankfully, it wasn’t broken. She took it off her tender foot, trying not to cry, and packed away the toys as quietly as possible.

Alix wouldn’t leave Sofia while she was sleeping. Once the toys were packed away, Alix moved to the chair a few feet across from Sofia and slowly lowered herself into it.
