But it was what was between his legs that drew my horrified fascination the most. His shaft was huge. It bobbed between his thighs, emerging from a furry pouch—a dark red, throbbing pole of flesh that looked way too thick to fit in my inexperienced pussy.

Even worse was the knot—it was as big as my fist, if not bigger! It throbbed at the base of his long, thick shaft, promising all kinds of things I didn’t want to think about.

“Mmmph!” I exclaimed, shaking my head at him. I wanted to shout, “No, Nick—it’s a trap!” but all I could do was think it—not actually tell him. Not that he would probably understand me, even if the damn gag was gone, I thought desperately.

But then something strange happened—I felt a thought in my head that wasn’t mine.

I don’t know if I’m right to call it a thought, though—it was more of a feeling—a questioning coming from the big beast in front of me.

Was that coming from Nick? I had no idea but if there was any chance that I could communicate to him in this form, I would take it.

“I’m bait,” I thought at him as hard as I could. “McCain wants you to go for me. Don’t do it!”

He snorted and I felt another feeling in my head—anger at our mutual enemy. He swung his head to look at the giant wolf who was still standing in the clearing, as though waiting to see what would happen next.

“That’s right!” I sent encouragingly. “That’s right, Nick—it’s McCain! He killed both our fathers—and I just found out he killed my mother too! Get him!”

Nick’s beast lifted his head and howled—a long, liquid sound that sent shivers down my spine. Then he turned from me and lunged at McCain’s wolf.

He was fast—almost faster than I could see and certainly faster than McCain had anticipated. I had no idea why the enormous wolf hadn’t run away into the trees like he had planned the moment Nick changed—maybe he wanted a front row seat to see my foster brother breeding me. But for whatever the reason, his decision to stay cost him his life.

Before I could even blink, Nick had the enormous wolf’s head in his hands. The wolf began to snap and bark—short, sharp sounds of pure panic as he realized he was stuck and there was no getting free. He scrabbled at the ground with his claws, trying to get purchase to push or pull away, but Nick’s beast had him fast between those enormous, clawed hands. I heard Boyd and Bobby shouting in the trees but before they could do anything, Nick’s beast twisted the wolf’s head all the way around with a swift, deadly motion.

There was a sickening crack! that was audible over all the shouting and then McCain’s wolf was looking down at the ground with a dead, upside-down gaze.

I felt a sick sense of triumph—it was no more than that bastard had deserved! But it was still damn hard to watch—even though I knew McCain had it coming.

I had the sense that Nick’s beast was strong enough to tear the entire head right off if he wanted to. Instead, he dropped the furry corpse and strode over to the woods where Bobby and Boyd were presumably still recording.

I wondered if the two of them were going to Shift and try to fight with the beast in their Fur Forms—but they were cowards. I heard them yelp and then the sound of running as the two of them beat a hasty retreat. Then I heard the van doors banging open and shut and an engine being gunned to life. The sound of tires squealing and scraping on gravel was next and then it faded into the distance—Bobby Aiken and Deputy Boyd were gone.

Which meant it was just me and Nick’s beast, alone in the clearing.

TWENTY-EIGHT

The enormous, furry beast came over to me again as soon as he was sure our enemies were gone. He crouched on his haunches and sniffed me all over, his cold nose running over my bare skin and making me shiver.

“Mmmph!” I begged softly and then sent a thought to him. “The gag—take it off me. Let me talk!”

Nick’s beast found the dirty bandana wrapped around my head and, with surprising delicacy, bit through the fabric with his razor-sharp teeth.

Did I mention those teeth? They scared me almost as much as his cock did—the front fangs were three inches long and looked strong enough to bite through solid bone. But he was very gentle when he freed me from the gag, though I felt his hot breath on the back of my neck as he bit through it.

“Thank you!” I said in a low, hoarse voice as soon as I had spit out the damp wad of fabric. It was so good to be able to talk again!
