“Oh, come on. You gotta stay,” he insisted. His hand was on my hip, but I shook my head, snatching myself away. As I did, I stumbled backward and the backs of my knees hit the edge of the bed, leaving me no choice but to fall. “Look at that. That’s better,” Dominic murmured, then he was on top of me.

“Dominic, no. I said I can’t do this. I have to go.” I pressed a hand to his chest, but it was such a weak attempt. I couldn’t understand why my body was working against me. I’d had a few drinks, sure, but not so much that I couldn’t control my own body.

“You don’t have to go anywhere,” he said, cupping my breast, groping it. “You want this, right, Brynn? You want me, yeah?”

I blinked up at him as he gripped my wrists and forced them to the bed. I had the urge to fight, to kick, to scream, but I couldn’t. My throat was dryer, my head spinning. It felt like there were two versions of him above me.

And then it hit me—something I thought would never happen to me. Something no woman ever thinks will happen to her.

“You . . . you spiked my drink,” I mumbled. “You did. You . . .” Why else would he have given me apple juice instead of water? God, I was so stupid.

Regardless that I was dizzy, I couldn’t ignore the smile on his face. “Just a precaution,” he murmured, then he shoved my dress up to my waist. I heard a door creak open, and Dominic got off of me to look back.

“I see you made it,” he said.

“Oh, look at that,” another man rasped. “Look at those thighs. Lace panties. She’s ready for some fun, huh?”

“Brought her here, just like you asked. You’ll speak to Reba, right? I need her in my corner—if she doesn’t back me, I’ll lose the campaign.”

“Yeah, yeah. You’ve got it. I’ll talk to her,” the other man said hurriedly.

The room kept spinning. The bed dipped and someone appeared above me. A white man. I couldn’t make him out at first, I was so dizzy, but some of the features were familiar. I’d seen him before. The man at Franco’s. He was sitting with Dominic. John—that was his name.

Rough, sweaty hands tore at my clothes, then yanked my thighs apart. A deep growl erupted from the man’s throat and his fingers pushed my panties aside, poking and prodding at my vagina.

“How does that feel? You like that?” John asked, leaning forward until his mouth was near my ear. He smelled like stale whiskey and cigars. “Women like you are my weakness. A sin, really. A man of my nature shouldn’t want a little brown thing like you, but I can’t help that I do. There’s just something about you—something about all of you—that makes my dick as hard as rock.”

I turned my head, spotting a person standing in the corner. It was Dom.

“Please, Dom,” I croaked.

“Shh, shh, shh.” John cupped my mouth, pressing his body down harder on mine. Dominic turned to face me, eyes glimmering, a smile on his lips. “I’ll take care of you.”

I wanted to scream but my body wouldn’t do a damn thing I needed it to. I tried lifting my leg to kick the man off, but he kept groping, touching, licking. His hot, disgusting tongue circled around my earlobe before sliding down to the bend of my neck.

I laid there while he poked and prodded, then he took down his own pants. He flipped me over like I was a ragdoll, hoisted my hips upward, and that was the last thing I could remember about that night before the drinks and the drugs took over and everything faded to black.

When I woke up, my mouth was tacky, dry, and sweet. I released a groan as a strip of light blazed on my face. It was still dark outside, and the strip of light was coming from the bathroom where the door was cracked open.

It took a few minutes for it all to come back to me—the lounge, the watermelon drinks, Dominic.

I gasped and sat up in the oversized bed. My head throbbed when I tried to move and there was an ache between my legs and in my ass. Then I remembered coming to this place. The apple juice. Dominic on top of me and then . . . someone else. Some man . . . who was it?

I told Dom I had to go—that I couldn’t do it. Someone else came in . . . I passed out.

My bottom lip trembled as I climbed out of the bed. I was completely naked but couldn’t remember how any of my clothes got off. My dress was in a puddle next to the bed, so I picked it up, throwing it on quickly and then scanning the room for my purse.
