It would take some time for the ship to be prepared, and in that time there was no point holding onto the human. He bent down and let her stand on her feet. She was shivering, perhaps because she was cold, or perhaps because she was afraid.

WEAK

The crown spoke to him. He half-agreed. She was weak in many respects, but surprisingly strong in others. Her nipples were erect, and her inner thighs were coated with their mutual juices. He could see the puffy state of her sex peeking out between her legs as she shifted from foot to foot in front of him, avoiding his glare by lowering her head.

That would not do. He wanted to bear witness to her subjugation. He wanted to bask in her humiliation. She had tried to plot against him. Not a spy, but a saboteur, one who took a crown she had no right to handle and put it upon his head.

RIGHTFUL PLACE

The crown spoke again.

The crown was pleased with her actions, but the crown did not decide all his actions. It was a mere percentage of his personality. He could feel it trying to reach deeper into his psyche, claim more territory in his mind.

Konan took Elizabeth’s chin between his thumb and forefinger, glaring down into her reddened eyes. Had she been crying? Did he care?

She was so nervous. More nervous than she had been when they first met. She had reason to fear him now — and he intended to give her many more reasons to fear.

“Do you like the consequences of your meddling, human?”

“No," she whispered.

That was an understatement. Konan had been bad tempered, aggressive, and paranoid the entire time she had known him. What he hadn’t been, was cruel. At least, not this kind of cruel. She could see the influence of the crown in his eyes, and hear it in his voice.

It was clearly much more than a piece of royal jewelry. It was obviously an intellect in its own right. Cursed, perhaps. Or haunted. Whatever word you chose to use to reference a personality trapped in an inanimate object.

Konan had always been an exceptionally impressive specimen, but now with the crown of Masih fused to his head, he had an extra level of gravitas and awfulness.

Her body ached where he had punished and claimed her. Though she knew on some level she’d deserved it, it was not easy to take. The orgasms she’d experienced had been so powerful she had hardly been able to contain them. It was the worst and best sexual experience of her life all rolled up into one, and she was deeply confused and concerned about what it meant.

There was so obviously much more to Konan than she had realized. Herk’s revelations had shown her that there was much she had never suspected about the king. She had been innocent, assuming that his having gone into exile was some noble gesture, and not instead an act of a maniac deprived of his native prey.

“Herk!” Konan snapped his name.

“Yes?”

“Dominax banished his brother somewhere. Get in your ship, find out where he was banished, and banish yourself there too.”

Herk backed away, pointing to his chest. “You want me to banish myself?”

“Or I can drag you back and do what the people expect and will demand. Execute you as a traitor.”

“Okay. So, I’m going.”

Elizabeth felt sorry for the young man. She also felt a little jealous. This was his exit stage left, while she was still stuck in the thick of things which were getting darker and stickier by the moment.

There was one silver lining, she thought to herself as Konan’s inspecting gaze returned to her naked, shamed form. If the ship would not retract its roots, then they would not return to Masih, and the people there would be safe from their volatile and vengeful king.

“Look! The ship has pulled its tendrils from the ground!” the navigator cried out with great excitement.

Elizabeth groaned inwardly as she turned and saw that the thick tentacles belonging to the ship were indeed removing themselves from the soil, creating a rumbling undulation which made the ground shake beneath their feet.

“It’s ready to go home,” Konan declared. “We all are.”

She buried her face in her hands. She could feel events overtaking her again. For a moment, she had been arrogant enough to think that she had some control over them. When she’d taken the crown from Herk, she had felt all her storied destiny at once. It had felt like power. But it wasn’t power. It was just cause and effect running through her, using her like a puppet — and now she was once more caught up in the flow.

Elizabeth knew better than to resist. There was no stopping Konan now. She herself had seen to that.

“You will see my homeland now, human,” Konan told her. “No creature of your kind has ever served as a captive royal fuck slave there.”
