“Patient.” It comes with a soft moan as his lips get replaced by the tip of his tongue.

“The difference between me and the rest of ‘em, Doc, is I know what I am.” His hot breath tickles the wet spot he left against my skin. “But y’know what? I’m a damn lucky man.”

“Why’s that?” I ask weakly. I’m glad he pulled me onto his lap. My knees feel like jelly, and a flurry of butterflies explode in my belly.

“My doctor’s a bombshell who’ll do anything for an answer.” He’s right. I’ll do anything to keep this going as long as I can.

But I’m not even sure it’s for answers anymore.

Victor’s hands start moving up my body until they reach my breasts. His massive palms engulf them, and he gives them a soft squeeze. God, I can feel his arousal awkwardly adjusting between my thighs. He launches another assault of licks and kisses against my neck, moving up to my jaw, my cheek, and finally, with a precise snap of my neck, my mouth. He devours it instantly, tongue smashing through the barrier of our lips while his hands continue fondling.

And as quickly as his feverish touch came, Victor stops. He releases my tits, and his hands sink back to my waist.

“Shouldn’t have waited so long,” he says. “Gotta chain me up again before the guards step in.”

“But … I don’t want to. Not yet. I’m not finished.”

“Like I said…” I can feel his struggle to let me go. He’s basically vibrating with the lusty energy coursing through his veins. “Begging for it.”

He leans close and sucks my earlobe into his mouth. A deep rumble rips from his core.

“You’re the one who’s stopping,” I coo. “Who knows how far I’d have let you go?”

“Fuck,” he grumbles into my ear. “It’s gonna be a long twenty-four hours ‘til I see you again.”

I slide my hand up and cup his cheek in my fingers. He nuzzles into it. “Want me to make it even harder?” I jostle my hips over his throbbing member. His body reacts with a jerk.

“I don’t know how you could,” he says grimly. “Not when I could have you pinned over that desk and—”

“I’m a virgin.” I stand up and pat down the front of my dress, fixing up any unsightly creases.

Victor goes dead silent and wide-eyed. If his eyes weren’t following me back to the table, I’d have sworn he died from shock. He chains himself back to the desk, and just in time, as not a few minutes later, the asylum guards enter. They give him the usual talk of how to stand, how to act, and how to move.

All the while, those burning amber eyes don’t break from me. Not for a second until he’s out the door and behind the wall.

Well, isn’t this a pickle? He’s the first guy I’ve met who holds my interest, and he’s a damn inmate. Patient. Whatever.

Just my luck.

The warm, soothing sensation of his tongue still tingles against my neck. The places his hands wandered are warm from his touch. And there’s a void in my chest only Victor Cullen can fill. I’m throwing every rule out of the book by allowing what I did. And it’s never felt this good being so bad.

Yet, I have a feeling this could be the beginning of something beautiful. I’m compromising myself, my morals, and potentially my career for this.

But those things are meaningless with whatever we have blossoming.

“Tom.” I snap back to reality with my new patient, choosing to start our interaction the same way I did with Victor. “Can I call you that? Or would you prefer Mr. Reeves?”

“Tom.” He’s a giant of a man, and every time he moves, his chair squeals under his enormous size.

“Why do you think you’re here today?” I press my pen into the paper to write down whatever Tom answers.

“I dunno.” He shrugs his massive shoulders, and a sigh barrels through his chest.

“Do you know why you’re in the Alcatraz rehabilitation center?” I ask. Going from quick wit and sexually charged banter to the normal day-to-day is harder than I expected.

Tom shakes his head. “Who are you? Where’s Dr. Lissa?”

“Dr. Lissa isn’t well, and I’m stepping in for her. Her notes say that you have people talking to you. Can you tell me what they say?”

Her notes actually say that Tom suffers from schizophrenia and often has conversations with himself. It was during one of his episodes that he ended up killing two people, who he thought were hallucinations. He doesn’t recall the incident.

“No.” He shakes his head. “They wouldn’t like it.”

“What if I told you I can help you with the voices if you trust me?” I smile. It breaks the concern on his face momentarily.

“They tell me to do bad things sometimes.” He turns away from me, fixing his eyes on the desk. He takes a few deep breaths, but I don’t interrupt while he takes it in. “Like this.”
