He rolled onto his side, watching the moonlight create stripes on his wall from the blinds. The tree outside swayed in a breeze and it cast interesting shadows across those streaks.

But his mind was stuck on Gio naked between him and Lucien, his long, muscular legs with their faint dusting of dark hair and his smooth chest. He had been so honest in his reactions, so open and sexy. It was stunning. He wanted to know more about the man, what he liked, how he spent his time.

Then there was Lucien. Talk about amazing without clothes. The big man had broad shoulders, a slim waist and hips, and the tightest ass Calder had ever seen. And although he’d never gotten a chance to hold his cock in his hand, he’d looked his fill at the long, beautiful member.

But outside of bed, things were still shit.

Well, not total shit.

They weren’t arguing and snapping at each other like they had been. Now, they were barely talking at all. This push-and-pull relationship he had with Lucien drove him crazy.

Flopping onto his back again, he blew out a long sigh. He wasn’t supposed to be thinking of Lucien like this, but he couldn’t seem to stop.

The disturbing thing was that he was just as drawn to Gio as he was to Lucien. As if he didn’t have enough problems already.

He’d never thought about being in a threesome, and it had blown his mind. Lucien, with his strength and the way he’d touched Calder—as if he couldn’t help himself. And Gio, with his in-your-face honesty and boneless grace.

He wanted both of them.

Did that make him selfish? No, that wasn’t what he felt when it came to the pair. He truly did want them both and he was willing to do whatever he needed to bring them together. He started to turn over again, the soft sheets smelling of lavender fabric softener, but sat up instead.

He needed to talk to Lucien. Silence wasn’t fixing shit, and he was going to lose his mind if they didn’t do something about this.

He got out of bed and slipped on a pair of sweat pants. His half-hard dick pushed against the fabric, and he groaned. That was not helping, but maybe that was the point. All of this needed to be dealt with rather than ignored.

The house was silent except for the occasional creak of the old building settling. The wind rattled the trees, and there was a low snore that sounded like Baer. He walked around the hall to Lucien’s room and softly knocked on the door. It took only a few moments for the light to come on and him to answer. Apparently, he wasn’t the only one awake at this hour.

When Lucien opened the door, he was wearing a pair of boxers. He was so damn sexy, he took Calder’s breath for a moment. His gaze ran over that long body and he swallowed the sudden lump in his throat. “Um,” he mumbled. “I needed to talk to you.”

Lucien stepped aside to let him inside his room as Queenie, Wiley’s cat, gave a huff and ran out of the room. Lucien had three French doors that led to the upper rear porch and the room was next to Wiley’s office and away from the others, so there was lots of privacy. He’d covered his bed in a navy comforter, and the messiness of it made Calder’s already dry mouth go drier. He could so see himself in that bed with Lucien, and it wasn’t hard to imagine Gio there as well.

“You wanted to talk to me?” Lucien shut the door and rubbed his eyes. “Sorry, I think I just drifted off.”

“No, I’m sorry for waking you. This probably could have waited until tomorrow, but I couldn’t wait. It’s about Gio…and us.”

“I’m listening.” Lucien’s gaze ran over his bare chest, making Calder have to suppress a shiver.

“I know it’s awkward, that neither of us wants to talk about what happened, but it did. I heard you earlier—that it was the best night you’d had in a while.” He took a step toward Lucien. Fuck, the man had a sexy body. So big and tapering into a perfect V. “It was for me, too.”

“You want to do it again?” There was something hesitant but also warm in Lucien’s tone. It was enough to keep Calder talking through his rising anxiety.

“I had fun with Gio. Had fun with you. It’s easier to be around you when Gio’s there. He makes it simpler to relax and laugh. When it’s you and me, I’m tense and anxious and everything is awkward. I find myself saying things I’d never say.”

The corner of Lucien’s mouth quirked. “As you’ve noticed, I have the same reaction.”

“What if this tangled thread between us means something important, Lucien?”
