“Are you guys here often?” Elizabeth asked.

“I live here,” Ivy told her before taking another bite.

“And you’re with Steele, right?”

“Yes. So, Talon for you, hmmm?” Ivy asked.

“Is there something I should know about Talon?” Elizabeth asked.

“Nothing bad. He’s always a jokester. I’ve never seen him with any woman more than once. Not that he’s a player. He just doesn’t get involved. Obviously, there’s a reason for that. I’m glad to see him find the one he’s looked for,” Ivy answered quickly.

“He taught me how to dance last night,” Elizabeth shared.

“How fun is that! He does have the moves. You should see him dance around the kitchen as he cooks. Talon turns Latin music on and goes to town. Last time, he let me and Carlee bang on empty pans like bongos to keep the rhythm with him,” Remi said with a laugh. “Carlee isn’t here tonight. There will be more Littles on other nights.”

“I’ll look forward to meeting everyone,” Elizabeth stated and knew she was actually telling the truth.

“Did you wash your hands before eating?” a stern voice came from the doorway.

Ivy immediately froze and looked down at the finger she was using to swipe off the last of the cheese sauce clinging to the small cup’s sides. “Hmm, no?”

“That’s what I thought. Don’t put that in your mouth,” he warned with a steely-eyed look.

“Yes, Daddy.”

Ivy carefully picked up one of the napkins from the tray and wiped her finger clean. “All better!”

Shaking his head, Steele joined Talon and the others.

“Tartar sauce!” Elizabeth suggested.

The quartet exploded with laughter that attracted the attention of those nearby.

Setting their empty cups on the tray, the Littles retreated to a more secluded spot on the floor to chat and get to know each other better. Elizabeth knew she’d never have to talk about pickled beets in the compound. It was a fun place.

“I’m glad you had a good time tonight. I know it was scary at first.”

“I was being silly,” Elizabeth assured Talon as they walked up the stairs to her apartment.

“Feelings are never silly,” he said with a meaningful look. “It’s okay to be scared in new places with lots of new people. The compound can be overwhelming with all the members and guests.”

“Do you like living in a house all by yourself?” she asked. “Doesn’t it get lonely after being around all the Guardians? You work there, too, right?”

“Let me answer the second question first. I do work at the cycle shop. I rebuild engines. Does it bother you being a Little girl for a blue-collar man?”

“I hadn’t ever thought about it. What you do is much less important than what you are. I was married to a businessman and that didn’t work out well for me,” she shared.

“I want you to make sure you’re running to me and not away from anyone like your ex-husband,” Talon stressed.

“When I first met you, something clicked inside me. You felt righter than any man has ever seemed to me. I really didn’t plan to date again. Then I ran into you.”

“Good. I felt the exact same way. I don’t ever plan on letting you get away.”

That statement could have been threatening, but it wasn’t. Warmth flared inside her chest as her feelings solidified.

“For your first question, my house is lonely. I enjoy spending time there, but I’m not there very much. It’s outside of town. There’s a big meadow behind my house. All sorts of wildlife gather there. It’s calm and peaceful.”

“Sounds beautiful.”

“It is. Would you like to come visit tomorrow? You could bring Puff and Borscht to spend the night.”

“I’ll have to talk to my stuffies, but I think I’d like that. I have to work on Monday,” she warned.

“Me, too. We’ll set an alarm so you’ll have time for breakfast before we both have to leave.” Talon plucked her keys from her hand as they approached the door.

“It’s a big step,” she suggested as he unlocked her door.

“It’s okay if you’re not ready,” he said, ushering her inside and closing the door.

Pulling Talon to the couch, Elizabeth waited for him to sit down before taking a seat on his lap. All the Littles had sat with their Daddies during dinner. It seemed perfectly normal now.

“I really feel like I got to know you better tonight. It was fun just hanging out,” she shared.

“I’m glad. The Guardians are important to me.”

“I can tell. They’re like a big family. They just wear a lot more leather than the average family,” she suggested, trying to look serious.

“You!” Talon pulled her forward to give her a giant bear hug.

“Sorry, I couldn’t resist.”

Feeling nervous, Elizabeth traced the tattoos on his forearm to give herself something to do. Gathering her courage, she whispered, “Can I ask you something?”

“Of course.”

She peeked up at Talon’s face and then focused back on his powerful chest. “The Littles said there are punishment spankings and good girl spankings. And that I should ask for a good girl spanking so I wasn’t scared,” she blurted.
