“Will do,” he mumbles and I hang up, tossing my phone into the passenger seat.

I’m going to go find my girl and then I’m going to show this Chains fucker exactly what happens when he tries to hold my girl against her will.

Cuffing her to a motherfucking steering wheel.

I saw the video surveillance at that damn gas station myself. I may have promised Nicole I wouldn’t kill him right away, but that’s only because I’m going to enjoy dragging him slowly toward his death.

That’s for damn sure.

Chains

“What in the hell are you doing?”

“I…” For a second, she looks trapped—which she is. Then, she gets that sassy look on her face, the one that never fails to make my dick go hard. “I thought you were sleeping,” she huffs.

“I was and pretty damn good, too. Then, I found my arms empty instead of holding my woman. So, I repeat, what in the hell are you doing?”

She narrows her eyes at me.

“I had to pee!”

I cock my eyebrow up at her response, because we both know she’s lying. Then I lean up against the wall, folding my arms at my chest like I haven’t got a care in the world.

“Were you planning on pissing on the couch? Or going outside and squatting on the deck?”

“What?” she asks, her nose scrunched up.

“Well you’re not in the bathroom, so I can only assume you are in here to do the deed here. So have at it.”

“I…”

“I’m just going to stand here and watch the show.”

“I can’t pee in front of you,” she mumbles.

“You are the single most stubborn female I’ve ever been around.”

“Chains—”

“We both know you’re not here to take a piss. So, I’m going to repeat my question, what in the hell are you doing, Kayden?”

“I’m looking for the car keys,” she sighs.

“What for?”

“I… I need to get home, Chains. I need to try and get ahead of my father. If not, this could end really badly.”

“What happened to you being a grown woman and your father would just have to accept your choices?” I ask, fighting a smile, because I can tell she’s torn up over this.

“I am and he will… it’s just it may take a lot to talk him down. If you think I’m stubborn, Chains, I’m nothing compared to my father. He wrote the damn book on stubborn.”

“I told you I’ll deal with your father when the time comes. We’ll head back to Kentucky next week. I just want more time alone with you before all of the bullshit.”

“Chains, my father is probably on his way here—or already here. You did use a credit card yesterday,” she reminds me, her fingers going to the diamond I bought her. I wasn’t sure she would catch that, but this just proves she’s sharp as a damn tack.

“They might be in town, but no one knows us and this place sure as hell isn’t on the radar. We’re good here.”

“The longer we wait, the worse it will be, Chains,” she says, biting down on her lip in worry.

I release an aggravated breath, because I’m not ready to give up our time together—not yet. She is right, however. I didn’t realize it was bothering her so much and I really don’t want her stressing over this shit.

“Fine. We’ll head back in the morning.”

“Really?” she asks, her eyes going wide with shock.

“Yes, really. I told you, Kayden. I’m not giving you up. If it takes me heading back to Kentucky early and dealing with your father, so be it.”

“It’s not going to be easy,” she warns me, walking the few steps between us, to stand in front of me.

“I didn’t figure it would be,” I tell her, immediately taking her in my arms.

“I could love you, Chains,” she whispers, leaning against me and kissing my chest.

“You better learn to, because I told you, I’m not letting you go.”

“Will you learn to love me?” she asks.

“Probably, but you sure as hell are going to be a pain in my ass.”

“You’re such a jerk,” she mumbles.

“But, I’m your jerk,” I tell her, grinning down at her.

“There is that,” she laughs.

“Come on, Woman. I’ll let you take me into the bedroom and make it up to me for sneaking out of our bed.”

“Gee, that’s so nice of you.”

“I thought so,” I tell her as we walk.

“How am I supposed to make it up to you?”

I stop to look at her and let my finger move over her lip.

“We’ll figure something out,” I tell her, visions of her swallowing my cock down that sweet little throat of hers flashing through my mind.

She laughs, knowing what I’m thinking. But, she must want it just as bad, because she jogs into the bedroom leaving me to follow behind her.

Yeah… I could definitely love her…

Kayden

When Chains finally gets to the bedroom, I’m sitting on the side of the bed. I’m nervous, still not sure I should have given in. Chains said we’d go back tomorrow and that’s going to have to be enough. Besides, if I’m honest, I want one more day with him. I want to hide away from the world, just the two of us and I don’t want to think about the chaos my father might try to cause. I can only hope that once he sees how serious I am, how I’m not going to give Chains up, he’ll back off. If that doesn’t work, I’ll beg Mom to help me. She’s the only one that’s ever been able to get him to do anything.
