“This place looks like the backdrop for a horror film,” I share. “If you turn out to be a serial killer, Chains, I’ve got to warn you of something.”

“What’s that?”

“If you kill me, I will come back and haunt your ass for the rest of your life.”

“Oh, Kayden, my little drama queen. I don’t have that on my to do list. Unless, you can die from an overload of orgasms, because I plan on giving you a lot of those,” he laughs.

He comes around to my side of the car and picks me up in his arms. I squeal, because the move was so unexpected. I hold onto him in surprise, but being honest with myself, I melt into his body. I love being in his arms.

I love being with him...

“Isn’t carrying me over the threshold kind of a big commitment for our relationship?” I ask as he takes us into the cabin.

“Does this mean you’re finally accepting that we have a relationship?” he replies with a smirk.

“I think kidnapping is a pretty huge relationship really,” I respond sarcastically.

“I warned you early on that I wasn’t the kind of man you toyed with. If it takes getting you alone, away from the boy toys that you are used to, then so be it. I’ll do what I have to do to get in there with you.”

He puts me down on the floor, but he keeps my body close to him as his finger goes underneath my chin. I have to tilt my head under the pressure, forced to look up at him. He stares at me for long minutes, as if he’s searching for something. I don’t take my eyes off of him either, maybe I’m searching for something too.

“Are you saying, you kidnapped me, drove me through God knows how many counties in the state of Virginia, made sure my father would find a way to kill your ass, and you did all of this because you didn’t want me screwing another man?” I ask him, not sure how to make sense out of this entire situation.

“Is that so hard to believe? I told you I didn’t share. What did you think was going to happen when I saw you with that kid?”

“That kid is older than I am, Chains.”

“He’s still a kid, and you, Kayden West, are a complete handful. You need a man, Baby, not some wet behind the ears boy.”

“And you’ve decided you’re that man?”

“You decided that the minute you let me between those legs.”

“Maybe I did, let’s say for the sake of an argument, that I decided you were the man I wanted in my bed – – at least for a little while,” I admit, although qualifying my answer. “I would say that all bets were off the minute I found you standing with two women draped all over you. You said that you didn’t share, Chains. Remember? Well, neither do I.”

“So you fucked that kid, out of jealousy, because you thought you needed to get revenge. That’s fucked up, Kayden, but I guess I can understand it. I’m not happy about it. I’m pretty fucking pissed in general, and I can’t promise I won’t snap that kid’s neck if I ever see him again. But you and me, we’ll work this out here, just the two of us. No one else will be in play here. It will just be you and me.”

He pulls his shirt off, taking a step back from me, his gaze locked onto mine, as if daring me to argue.

“You’re really unbelievable, do you know that?”

“That’s nice of you to notice,” he mocks, throwing his shirt on the floor.

“Have you ever heard of talking to a woman?”

“What is between us will be better said without words, if you catch my drift.”

“That’s so stupid,” I laugh, finally turning away from him. I walk to a chair that has been covered up by a sheet. I pull the dusty fabric off, wrinkling my nose as I get the urge to sneeze. Then, I throw it on the floor and sit down. My gaze automatically lifting to Chains again. His hands are at his belt, and I shake my head no.

“If you are going to deny that you want me, that you don’t want us, Kayden, you can save your breath.”

“If you think it is so easy for me to go from what we did together and then, give myself to another man, why even bother with me? Why not go back to your club whores? Better yet, why even care? I mean, what happened to the old saying what’s good for the goose, is good for the gander?”

“I have no idea where farm animals come into this shit. For the record, I’m not into that level of kink. But, if you’re asking me why you getting into bed with that kid wasn’t a deal breaker, I have no fucking idea. I just know, what I feel for you is something I haven’t had before and I’m not willing to let it go, at least not yet. As for those women at the club, they were nothing.”
