“You realize you don’t make a bit of sense, right?”
“You’re just mad because you know I’m right,” he says with an easy smile that warms me from the inside out.
“You think you know everything don’t you, Chains?”
“About you? I think I’m barely scratching the surface. But, everything I’ve learned makes me want to know more,” he says, his voice gruff. His reply makes my heart stutter in my chest.
Chains is not a man to give flowery compliments. He’s plain spoken and rude to the point of being obnoxious. In a lot of ways, he reminds me of my father and maybe that’s why I like him so much. Because, I know that when he gives a compliment he truly means it. What he just said feels huge.
“I bet I can tell you something about me that you don’t know.”
“Surprise me, Baby.”
“Dom and Thomas aren’t my boy toys or whatever you call it.”
“No offense, Baby Girl, but I don’t want to hear about the men who came before me. I plan on fucking them out of your head.”
“That won’t be hard to do,” I laugh.
“I like that you have confidence in me, I don’t plan on disappointing you.”
He looks so happy, so self-satisfied with himself, that I have to laugh. He is as cocky as hell, but damn it, I like that too.
“You are so damn full of yourself.”
“I can’t wait until you’re full of me,” he says with a smirk.
“Aren’t you the least interested in finding out what you don’t know about me, Chains?”
“I figure I could spend years and never find out everything.”
“Damn, you really can be smooth when you try.” He doesn’t respond to that, he just grins. “You probably don’t have years with me, however. I figure my father is close on our trail even now.”
“You might be right, but this place is off the grid enough that I’m willing to take my chances.”
He’s underestimating my father, but I let it go. I’m going to have tonight with him. After that… I need to find out a way to save Chains’ life.
“What if I told you that those boy toys are my brothers?”
I see the minute my words hit him. I see the surprise on his face and I smile in victory.
“Maybe you should have told me that before I kidnapped you,” he barks.
I throw my head back and straight out laugh, because it’s not like he was letting me say much of anything and I was so mad over the Twinkies I wouldn’t have told him the truth anyway. If Chains is hard headed then someone should warn him that I’m worse.
I wasn’t watching so I’m not prepared for the way he charges over and picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder.
“What are you doing now?” I ask, still laughing.
“I’m going to fuck you until you can’t use that sweet mouth of yours to sass me.”
“That might take a while,” I warn him.
He grunts in reply, making me laugh some more.
Damn it, I really like this biker.
I like him way too much.

Chains
There’s only one bedroom in this small cabin. There’s a large cloth tarp over the bed. It’s dusty and needs a good cleaning. I would have preferred to have it clean before I take Kayden, but I can’t wait and she doesn’t seem to be pushing me away—or giving me hell with that smart mouth of hers—so I’m not about to wait. My girl seems to change depending on which way the wind blows. That thought makes me smile. She’s the first woman I can ever remember who keeps me on my toes, always does something to surprise me, and doesn’t fucking bore me.
I can’t imagine Kayden ever boring me.
I help her to stand when we get in front of the bed. She looks around, frowning.
“I don’t suppose I could talk you into cleaning—”
I don’t let her finish. I take her mouth in mine, showing her without words how much I fucking want her. When we break apart I’m groaning and she’s licking her lips making it worse. I’ve got to have her and soon. I can’t hold back much longer.
“You really know how to kiss,” she murmurs. I barely catch her words, instead I’m focused on the way the tip of her tongue slips out to run against her lip.
I reach behind her to pull the tarp away from the bed. There’s a bare mattress and I’m just thankful it appears clean.
“Undress, Kayden.”
“Uh… maybe we should think about this,” she hedges, but I shake my head no. The time for thinking is over.
“Undress.”
“Just like that?” she squeaks, almost sounding afraid.
“You have a problem with that?”
“It seems a little unfair. I mean you’re completely dressed.”
“And?” I ask, enjoying the annoyance that flashes in her eyes.
“How about a little tit for tat?” she mumbles avoiding my eyes.
