I stop tickling her and smile down into her brilliant face. “Now, let’s try something else?”

Abby chuckles mischievously. “Gorgeous? Cute?”

I back down with an amused laugh. “You really are naughty, aren’t you?” I flip us so that she’s lying on my chest.

Abby sits up, her core directly over my length that begins to grow excited. “How about you punish me for being such a naughty, naughty girl, sir,” Abby mutters in a sultry voice, leaning forward to trail kisses down my chest.

“Abby,” I tease when her tongue swipes over my nipple. “You’re really asking for trouble.”

“I don’t mind trouble,” she says, moving her hips in a slow grind against me. I groan as blood shoots directly to the head of my manhood. I hook my hand around her neck and drag her mouth to mine in a rough kiss.

Suddenly, the sound of the doorbell rings through the house. I ignore the disturbance, running my tongue teasingly over her lower lip. The sound comes again, an irritatingly insistent ringing.

“I guess that won’t be going away,” Abby says with a disappointed sigh, reluctantly rolling off me.

I let out a string of curses, irritated by the disturbance. “Who the hell leaves their fucking house so early in the morning?” I grumble and get off the bed to put on some pants.

“It’s well past ten,” Abby says with a laugh. “I think the time is justified.

“I don’t bloody care. It’s my fucking house,” I say, pulling a shirt over my head. I lean over to kiss Abby’s forehead and plant another on her lips just because I can’t resist. “I’ll be right back, baby.”

Abby nods with a smile, her cheeks coloring prettily. I chuckle to myself as I head out the door. But, of course, she heard the unspoken promise in my parting words.

I head down the stairs, ruffling my hand through my hair to make a little sense of this mess. I’m unsurprised to see Mandy sitting cross-legged on my couch, cradling a cup of coffee in her hands.

“Took you long enough, Boss,” she says with a slight roll of her eyes.

Unperturbed by her sarcasm, I plop onto the sofa opposite hers with a sigh. “What brings you by, dear Mandy?” I say in a light tone.

Instead of replying, though, Mandy leans forward, staring at my face with a slightly confused frown. “You seem...different.”

I want to reply that it’s probably because I spent the night with the best woman on earth, but that would seem like a farce, so I just lean back in with a soft snort. “Do I?”

“Yes, you do,” Mandy replies with a baffled scoff. “And what’s this unfamiliar vibe coming from you? It’s giving me the creeps, really.”

“I think I’m in love, Mandy,” I say calmly. It’s surprising how easily the words slip out of my mouth and the peace I feel after uttering them.

Mandy spits out her coffee in shock, breaking out into a bout of coughing. “What?” she snaps after recovering. “What the fuck are you talking about? Love?”

“If it’s not love, I don’t know what it is,” I say with a slight shrug. “I mean...she’s always in my every waking thought and she’s the last person I think about before I sleep. The thought of my life without her scares the shit out of me. I can’t even remember what the hell I did before her. She makes me happy, and that’s not even the beginning of the things I feel whenever I’m with her. If that’s not love, then tell me what it is, Mandy?”

“What the hell are you rambling on about, Carlos,” Mandy asks, shaking her head in complete bafflement. “Who are you, and what the hell have you done to my boss?”

I laugh, shaking my head. “I’m in love with Abby,” I say with a wide smile. “Funny how I’m admitting it aloud to you first. It’s crazy, Mandy.”

Mandy’s expression immediately changes from confusion to derision in a second. “Obviously, you’re crazy,” she spits.

I’m alarmed at the depth of venom in her eyes as she glares at me. More than that, I can’t believe she’d disrespect me so blatantly. I sit up slowly, my expression immediately hardening into an intimidating glare.

“What did you say to me?” I ask in a deceptively low tone, holding her gaze with mine.

“Sorry, Boss,” Mandy says, immediately lowering her eyes contritely. “I just can’t wrap my head around it. She’s not even your type. She’s fat and....”

“She’s exactly everything I want in my woman,” I interrupt sharply. “I thank you for leading her to me, but I won’t take any more insults about Abby from you. You will respect her as my woman. Are we clear?”

“But….”

“Are we clear?” I repeat.

“Yes, Boss,” Mandy replies. “I respect your decisions. Always.”

“Great,” I say with a tight smile. “Let’s leave it at that. What brings you here, by the way?”
