“Thank you so much,” she said before she stood, looking at him expectantly until he let himself out of the guest bathroom and closed the door.

Tom dragged his sweaty T-shirt over his head and threw it into the bin as he entered the master bathroom. He turned on the water and groaned as an image of his Elizabeth standing under the showerhead came to mind. He eased his zipper over the bulge developing in the front of his jeans.

“Maybe I should turn that water to cold,” he considered out loud to his reflection in the mirror.

“I don’t like cold water,” a feminine voice stated from behind him. “Can’t we leave it on hot?”

Chapter Six

When Tom spun around, he nearly swallowed his tongue. He blinked a few times before accepting what he was seeing. He licked his suddenly very dry lips.

Elizabeth was in his bathroom. Naked. All casual as if it were no big deal. She had a very brave posture, but she was trembling a little. “It’s such a waste of water for us to use two showers,” she said. She had one hand on the frame of the doorway. The other was at her side, but her fingers were curled in a loose fist.

Tom finally found his senses and took a step toward her. He cupped her face lightly before dragging the backs of his knuckles slowly down her body, between her breasts and across her belly.

She was so fucking sexy. He knew she worked out, and it was obvious. She was fit. Her brown curls were bouncing around her face. Her dark nipples were hard points on her pert breasts.

When he let his gaze ease lower, he discovered a well-groomed runway leading to her pussy. His cock was harder than ever as he took her in, wondering if he was dreaming. Maybe he’d never made it to the bathroom at all. Maybe he was in the hallway because he’d fallen and hit his head.

But then her hands came to the front of his jeans and she finished unzipping them. “It will be easier to shower if you take your clothes off.”

So far she’d been the only one to speak. He needed to get un-tongue-tied. He cleared his throat and brought both hands to her face, tipping it back so he could look in her eyes. “You’ve shocked me speechless, Little girl.”

She gave a slight shrug. “I considered getting in the shower in the guest bathroom, but then I figure why tiptoe around each other? We have a connection. We’re exploring a relationship. You talk as if you’re very certain about me. We should see if we also have chemistry.”

Damn, she was articulate for a woman putting herself way out there. “I have no doubt in the world we will have chemistry, Little one. It’s obvious from the bulge in my pants and the scent of your arousal filling the room.”

“That’s just the sauerkraut,” she teased.

He shook his head. “It’s not. It’s you. Are you sure you want to take this step with me?”

She took a step closer until an inch separated them. Her gaze remained on his as her hands lowered his jeans over his hips. “Certain. But I want you to know a few things.”

“What are they, Bunny?”

“I’ve been busy getting my café off the ground for a few years. I haven’t been on a single date in all that time. I’m a bit rusty.”

As his jeans fell to the floor, he shook his head. “You don’t seem very rusty.” His cock bobbed free now, and he closed the distance, pressing it into her belly.

“I’m being braver than I feel,” she admitted as she slid her hands around to grip his ass. “Inside I’m extremely nervous that you’re about to turn me down. If you do, I’ll be mortified and never be able to face you again. I’ll have to move to another town.” She did not laugh.

He gave her a slow smile. “Not a chance in hell I’m going to turn you down, Elizabeth.”

She blew out a breath. “Good. Also, I’m on birth control and I was tested for every damn thing after I broke up with my last boyfriend, so you don’t have to worry about anything like that.”

“I’m glad you take care of yourself, Little one. I was tested after I broke up with my last girlfriend too.”

“When was that?” she blurted.

“Almost a year,” he informed her.

She exhaled in relief again. “For a moment I thought you might say last week.”

He chuckled. “No. My mind and body are all yours. No one is lingering in my thoughts.”

She glanced at the shower where steam was billowing out now. “We’re wasting water.” Her eyes were dancing as she looked back at him.

“I know you run a very green restaurant with healthy organic foods, and I saw the various recycling bins in the back of your kitchen. Are you also the sort of person who takes a quick shower with a timer?” He was half kidding, but he wouldn’t be surprised if she said yes.
