The way he growls and moans, the way he marks my body to the point where even my pussy lips didn’t escape his sweet torture. I love the way he looks into my eyes while moving inside me like he’s seeing something new.
I got so caught up in my thoughts and was almost ready to touch myself when the doorbell rang. I jumped off the bed, looking around guiltily before the cobwebs cleared, and I went to answer the door. “What is this now?” Before the grinning delivery guy could answer, my phone rang on the table. “Give me one minute; let me get that.”
“Garrick, what have you done? What the heck is that thing?”
“Mercedes Benz G-Class.”
“It’s a war tank what the hell?”
“It’s white with a pink interior, baby; I don’t think that’s army issue.” There was laughter in his voice, and I felt perplexed.
“Hold on a minute.” I went back to the delivery guy and, after ascertaining that Garrick had taken care of everything, including tip, sent him on his way. “Garrick, you spoil me. I hope you don’t think….”
“That I married you for your money.” It’s one of the things I’ve always been worried about.
I know what people think about me; I’d even heard it from the parents of some of my friends when they didn’t know I was within hearing distance. And, of course, Rene believes it. “Don’t be an ass. And I thought I told you to ignore everything she said that night?”
“I know, but….”
“There are no buts, baby. You’re my wife. I enjoy spending my hard-earned money on you; it’s my right, and not you or no one else is going to take that pleasure away from me, understood? Understood?”
“Yes, I guess.” Gosh, he’s so touchy.
“Okay, I have to get back to my meeting. Go have fun with your car.”
Okay, I admit, I do have fun with the way he takes care of me; that’s when I push aside my doubts and fears. But wouldn’t he get tired eventually? I know of so many instances where couples start out strong and then taper off. Of course, change is to be expected, especially after the children come but does everything have to be gone?
I’d hate to get used to feeling like this, that euphoria that overcomes me whenever he’s gone overboard in some big way for me, only to lose it somewhere down the line. “This marriage stuff is hard.” I whooped and jumped into the driver’s seat after removing the truck size bow that came with it.
It turned on like a dream. Way better than the clunker I’d bought second hand when I went away to college after I refused to let him buy me a car. We’d had a big fight about that, as I recall. But I’d got a little summer job for the sole purpose of buying a car. I didn’t want Rene’s passive-aggressive crap to spoil my first car like it did everything else. It was the first fight I’d won.
“Oh, baby!” I drove to the city and back with a big stupid grin on my face. This SUV makes me happy; go figure. I barely made it back home in time to start dinner. We’d given the staff extra time off for the holidays because I wanted to play the merry wife for a bit.
I’ve always wanted to take care of Garrick, and now I can. That night when he came home, I was sure to show him how appreciative I was. And then all hell broke loose.
GARRICK
I watched her on the monitor from my office as she went jetting around town, not stopping anywhere. I doubt she’d even checked if she had enough gas. She never does. That’s pure Madeline for you, but of course, I’d already seen to that and much more for her safety. It had been a bitch finding just the right shade of pink I know she likes for the interior, and she’s right; it is a damn tank.
When she went back home, I only had two more hours to go before I could call it a day. Since I had my admin book a hotel in Paris and a chateau in the Swiss Alps from two days before Xmas until after the New Year, I wanted to get as much work done and off my plate as possible before we left so that I could relax and enjoy giving her all of my attention.
When I walked through the door hours later, there was a heavenly scent coming from the kitchen, and I found her in there in a white off-the-shoulder sweater and dark grey slacks under her red kiss, the cook apron, and fluffy pink bunny slippers. Gotta love her; she’s a mix of crazy and eclectic. “Oh hi, I didn’t hear you come in.”
