Again.

In front of me.

I slid from the ATV and stomped over, glowering and ready for a fight. Unable to stop myself from snapping. “Sorry to interrupt—again. Don’t I pay you to do something around here besides grope the guests, Tim?” I growled. “In fact, I’m pretty damn sure I said to stay away.”

Tim stepped back, shocked. “Sorry, boss. Sammy here was just—”

“Sammy needs to learn to keep her hands to herself,” I replied and took her arm, tugging her in the direction of the barn. “I need to speak to her. Excuse us. Do your job,” I added over my shoulder.

I took her into the barn, pulling the door shut behind me. I was tired, tense, and angry. Not a good combination.

She twirled around, crossing her arms. “What is your problem?” she asked.

I stalked toward her, knocking over a loose bale of hay in my anger, the straw hitting the ground and bursting open, scattering the golden sheaves everywhere.

“Dammit,” I cursed, kicking at the hay.

“Now it’s your target?” she asked, sarcastic. “Not poor Tim?”

I closed the distance between us, narrowing my eyes.

“Listen, Lady, and listen well. The staff is off-limits.”

She furrowed her brow. “Excuse me?”

“Stop flirting.”

“I’m not flirting!” she retorted, sounding shocked. “I’m being friendly.”

“Looked a lot more like flirting than being friendly.”

She snorted, tossing her hair, reminding me of an impatient filly that was getting ready to throw her rider for incompetence. She glared at me. “Maybe because you’re neither friendly nor know how to flirt, you big jackass.”

“I know exactly what I was seeing. You laughing and chatting with Tim. Rubbing his arm. Hugging him. That was flirting,” I snapped, unable to understand my fury. I hated seeing her close to him. Loathed her touching him. I wanted to find Tim and beat his ass for having the audacity to get close to her.

She shook her head. “You are such an idiot. I was laughing with him earlier as he was telling me stories of his mother and girlfriend and how they gang up on him all the time. I was comforting him when he told me about his sister not getting the kitten she was waiting for and how awful he felt for her.” She pushed on my chest. “You jumping-to-conclusions jackass.”

I grabbed her hand. “That’s twice you’ve called me jackass. I hope you’re better at writing copy than you are at insults.”

I should have known better. The last time I’d grabbed her hand, she’d flipped me like it was nothing.

She did it again.

One moment, I was on my feet, glaring down at her. The next, I was on the pile of hay on the ground, blinking up at her. She scrambled and straddled me, breathing hard, her hands in the middle of my chest.

“You are the most irritating, grumpy man I have ever met,” she hissed in her fury.

Then she crashed her mouth to mine. I fisted her hair, groaning at her taste as our tongues met, furious and intense. She bit my lip, and I sprang up, surprising her, rolling us so I was over her.

“You are the most vexing, pushy woman I have ever had to deal with,” I growled. Then I yanked her up and kissed her again, holding her tight. Her mouth was sweet. Far too sweet for the venom it could spout.

She wrapped her legs around my waist and lunged. Once again caught by surprise, I ended up on my back again, with her on top.

“Afraid I’ll show you up in front of your men?” she taunted.

“You need to watch your mouth.”

“Seems to me you like my mouth.”

“Only if it was wrapped around my dick.”

She arched an eyebrow. “Dreaming of me now, are you?”

“More of a nightmare, really.”

I sat up, laying her down on the straw, following her and pressing her into the pile again. “At least you’d be quiet then.”

She glared, which turned me on more. “You’d hate me quiet.”

I had to grin. “Yeah, I would.” I traced a finger down her cheek. “Are you okay to do this, Sammy? I mean—”

She cut me off. “More kissing, less talking, Cowboy.”

We rolled, the straw going everywhere as we moved. She was surprisingly strong and agile. I finally was over her, pinning her arms down and keeping her under me. My cock was rock hard, my breathing heavy. Her chest heaved, her lips were swollen from mine, and her hair spread around the hay, a softer version of the straw. Her dark eyes were wide and wild with emotion.

Was it anger? Lust? I knew which one I was feeling now.

“You got anything else to tell me?” she asked.

“You’re the fucking sexiest thing I have ever seen.”

Then my mouth was back on hers. Our tongues dueled and fought for dominance. The kiss became carnal. Deep. Wet. Possessive. Somehow my hands found their way under her shirt, pressing into the satin of her skin. She clawed at my shoulders, tugging on the plaid so hard the seams split. I sat up, so she straddled me again. She moaned when she felt my cock pressing into her. I dragged my mouth from hers, over her cheek to her ear.
