“What in the hell were you thinking?” my kidnapper asks me as his hand comes down on my poor rear-end another two times. “Prancing around half-naked in a room full of strangers.” I was actually asking myself the exact same question right before he dragged me off the stage.

When he sets me on my feet, I spin around and launch into my defense. “My friends talked me into this silly scheme. I was supposed to do something I’d never done before.” This sounds even worse to my ears, but I let the word vomit fly. “I’m so uncoordinated and can’t dance, so I thought stripping would definitely qualify.” Confusion flashes through his dark eyes as he stares into mine while I ramble on. “I had no idea where to even find a place that would let me fumble through a stripping act." Okay, so this probably wasn't the best idea, I think to myself before continuing, "I was walking down the strip when I had the bright idea to ask one of the showgirls standing on the side of the road for help.”

My kidnapper’s eyes narrow as he rubs his bottom lip. Before he’s able to interrupt me, I blurt out the rest of my story. “She advised me to try Ralphie's Place.” I shrug, knowing my explanation sounds insane, but I’ve come this far. “And here I am.”

"And here you are," he repeats, then points to the sofa across the room. "Now sit your little ass down and listen carefully."

Did this jerk really just tell me to sit down? I open my mouth to argue, then decide it might be in my best interest to actually listen to him since I’m hoping to make it out of here alive. Glaring into his dark brown eyes, I walk over to the sofa and carefully sit down, hoping the tight leather skirt I squeezed into earlier holds up under the pressure. I’m not sure where this brave side of me is coming from, but I’m kinda starting to like her.

A sudden knock on the door causes my kidnapper to mutter under his breath while pulling his suit coat off. He shocks the heck out of me when he tugs me to my feet and slips the warm coat over my shoulders. “Keep this on,” he tells me before turning to call, “Come in.”

“Sorry to bother you, Marco.” It’s the man who followed us across the nightclub. His eyes widen a little when he sees me standing there in my stripper costume with his boss’ coat over my shoulders. “But we’re going to have an issue if we don’t get out of here. It seems you stole the main entertainment, and the crowd is getting rowdy. I had your car brought around to the back door.”

“Thanks, Tony.” My kidnapper sighs before turning to me. “We’ll have to continue this conversation later. Please come with me,” he tells me, and I’m pretty sure I just went from the frying pan into the fire. It looks like my kidnapper isn’t going to just let me go. I’m not going to lie; part of me, the well-hidden brave part, was really disappointed at the thought of him showing me the door.

We step out the back door of the club, and my situation goes from bad to really freaking horrible. My useless sense of self-preservation finally kicks in and tells me I’m in all kinds of trouble here. I’m all alone in a dark back alley with two mafia dudes. Hopefully, I don’t end up riding in the trunk.

“Please don’t put me in the trunk.” I voice my concern as my kidnapper leads me to the back of the car. “I’ll get car sick and puke all over the place,” I add, hoping to convince him.

“You have a very active imagination,” my kidnapper tells me before opening the back door.

“I read a lot,” slips out, and I barely resist the urge to smack my hand against my forehead. Like this mobster cares that read.

“I like to read, too.” He shocks me before giving me a little nudge into the back seat of the car. “Now, get in.” My bristles rise when he orders me around, yet again, but I somehow manage to keep my snarky reply to myself.

The man named Tony slides into the front seat next to the driver while my kidnapper sits next to me. “Take us home,” he tells the older driver.

Home? His home? Oh no. I’m definitely in trouble now.

CHAPTER

MARCO

It’s official. I’ve lost my goddamn mind over this girl, and I’ve never been happier.

The luscious beauty bites her bottom lip and asks, “Are you planning to kill me?”

Not in this fucking lifetime. I plan to love and protect my curvy little soulmate for the rest of our lives. “No, but I might spank your ass for pulling a stunt like this,” I tell her. My dick nearly rips a hole through the front of my pants at the thought of turning her luscious ass red.
