“You came.” When he gets to me, he wraps his arm around me, pulling me into his side. I press my nose into him. My eyes fall closed, and I suck in a deep breath of him.
I don’t know what it is about this man, but every time I’m this close to him, I can’t seem to think straight. I take another deep breath to get myself together. I have a job to do, and I need to stick to the plan. I can’t allow him to distract me.
I read an article online before I made my way over here about the art of seduction. One of the things they mentioned was the power of smell. Pretty sure Jason’s smell seduces me. Everything he does seems to have that effect on me. Including him being bossy. It’s annoying.
“Did I have a choice?” I drop my head back.
“Nope, but because you’ve been a good girl, I’m going to reward you.” His eyes drop to my mouth. My head tilts back more, ready for my kiss. My eyes fall closed, but no kiss comes.
“What?” My eyes open. “Are you not—”
“Oh. I am.” He leans down. “But you’re so damn sexy. You distracted me.”
“Really?”
“Yeah really, babe.” His fingers sink into my hair as he finally kisses me. I let out a moan. I’m so not sexy, and I know it. But with him, I do feel that way. I gasp when his other hand grips my ass, his cock pressing into my stomach. A whimper leaves me as a heat settles between my thighs.
Jason rips his mouth back suddenly. I gasp for air. It takes me a second to remember where I am and that people are milling about. It’s nowhere near as packed as it was the other night. Tonight only soft music plays. It’s a different feeling.
“I think that was your reward.” I lick my lips.
As much as I enjoyed the kiss, I can’t forget the fact that he blackmailed me. I’m not ready to admit that I might have enjoyed that part too. When he smirks, I realize he already knows.
“It was.” He takes my hand, leading me across the giant warehouse.
“Is there always a party going on here?”
“Throughout the week it can be this way in the evenings after work. A lot of the members work for the mine too. They come over after work. Some have no one to go home to. They'd rather be here.”
“That’s nice they have somewhere to go. I can’t imagine not having a family to go home to.” My family is my whole world. “Do you have a family?”
“My mom.” I love the smile that manifests when he mentions his mother. “She’s going to love you.” I stop walking for a second, surprised by his words, but he keeps moving me along before I can say anything. His mom is going to love me? Did he really say that? “You want something to drink?”
He motions to the bar. A few more people have walked over. I notice they all keep stealing glances over toward Jason and me. It’s strange to think he owns all of this and that he is in charge. To some of these people he’s their boss and to others their president.
“I don’t really drink,” I admit.
He motions to the girl with the pink hair. “I put a case of bottled root beer in the bottom fridge,” he tells her. She spins around to grab one for him.
“How did you know I drink that?”
“It was on the counter today when I was over.”
“When you came over to blackmail me?” Wow. He really must pay attention. He places his hand on my hip, pulling me more into him.
“You blackmailed her, Pres?” The girl drops the bottle down in front of me.
“If I hadn't she wouldn’t be here.” His hand slips under my shirt, his fingers grazing my skin. The roughness of them feels so good. I let myself lean into him even though I shouldn’t.
“Girl to girl. He’s a good one. Promise.” Her smile is genuine. “But it’s nice to see him have to chase a bit. It’s good for him. I’m Pink, by the way.”
“Thank you. I’m Ollie.” I take the bottle from her hand and steal a sip. As nice as she’s being, I still feel out of place. This place is intimidating. It doesn’t help that I know people are watching us. I really don’t understand why. I’m sure Jason sitting at the bar with a woman is nothing new for them. A pang of jealousy hits me that I wasn’t expecting at the thought of him being with someone else. I know it’s ridiculous, but I can’t help it.
Jason leans down next to my ear. “Your reward is here.” I give him a confused look.
“Two Miller’s,” someone shouts from across the room. I turn my head to see a man with a girl wrapped around him. He’s headed toward the bar. I tense when I realize that it’s Eddie. Crap.
