Oh. Dear. God.

Emilio was still nude and he was bent over, shuffling through his duffel bag, giving Spencer a front-row view of the most gorgeous ass on the planet along with those huge balls and the pretty cock.

Spencer must have made a noise of some sort because, suddenly, Emilio twisted his upper body and said, “Are you okay?” He sounded worried.

“I’m… yes… fine.”

That slow, sexy grin made another appearance, and Emilio’s eyes twinkled. He stood up, sauntered over, and curled his hands around Spencer’s clenched fists. Spencer relaxed his hold on his jeans, letting them drop to the floor, and twined his fingers with Emilio’s.

“Were you checking out my ass?” Emilio asked in a husky whisper.

Though he opened his mouth to answer with words, a strangled whine came out instead.

“Fuck,” Emilio groaned. “You look at me like that and I want to take you back to bed.” He moved one hand up Spencer’s arm, causing Spencer to tremble and lean closer to him. “Ever since I saw you at the university that first time, all buttoned up and shy, I couldn’t stop wondering what you’d be like when I got you alone.” He squeezed Spencer’s shoulder and then dragged that big hand up Spencer’s neck to his cheek. Reflexively, Spencer turned into Emilio’s palm and nuzzled it. “You’re even better than I imagined. So sensual and sweet, on top of being crazy smart.” He shook his head in apparent disbelief. “How did I get this lucky?”

Spencer had been asking himself the very same question.

Emilio bent down and licked his earlobe. “Tell me you don’t have plans this weekend,” he said, his voice low. “Tell me we can spend the next two days trying to figure out how many times we can get off before we pass out.”

“Jesus,” Spencer gasped.

“Say I can stay, cariño.”

Needing a moment to make the world stop spinning and gather his wits, Spencer changed the topic and said, “You keep calling me that.” He swallowed hard. “It’s Spanish, right? What does it mean?”

“Cariño?” Warm, soft lips kissed the side of his neck, making him tremble.

“Uh-huh.”

“It means darling.” Emilio kissed his way down the side of Spencer’s neck. “Honey.” He licked a long swathe up over his Adam’s apple. “Sweetheart.” He tugged Spencer’s lower lip between both of his. “Love.” Then he pulled back and pierced Spencer with his deep, dark gaze. “Say I can stay, cariño.”

With his heart slamming against his ribs and his voice so scratchy it wasn’t recognizable, Spencer said, “You can stay.”

Emilio tangled one hand in the back of Spencer’s hair, tipped his head back, and gripped his hip with the other, then yanked him forward. Spencer knew what was coming and he welcomed it. He clutched Emilio’s arms right above his elbows, closed his eyes, and parted his lips. When the kiss came, it was softer than Spencer had expected, a gentle exploration of mouth and tongue. He didn’t know how long they stayed that way, holding onto one another, but eventually Emilio’s stomach rumbled again and they broke apart.

“You finish getting dressed. I’ll get the food on the table,” Spencer said.

“Okay.” Emilio gazed at him for another moment before going back to his duffel bag.

Spencer bent down to retrieve his discarded jeans, made quick work of putting them on, and walked out of the room, intent on finding out whether there was even a kernel of truth in the old adage that the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach.

EMILIO watched Spencer walk out of the room, listened to his footsteps retreating down the hall, and then snatched his cell phone from the bundle of clothes he’d stripped off before the shower. He sat on the edge of the bed and dialed.

His brother Henry answered after a couple of rings. “Yo. What up?”

“Hey. I got a question for you,” Emilio said. “Why haven’t you married Stacy yet?”

There was a pause and then Henry snapped at him, “What the fuck, man? I don’t hear enough of this shit from her friends, now I gotta hear it from you too?”

Ignoring the outburst, Emilio pressed forward. “Seriously. You’ve been together how long? Two years, right? You should have babies and shit by now. What’s holding you up?”

Another pause. “Two and a half. And what’s with the sudden interest in my relationship? You never gave a shit about my personal life before.”

“That’s not true,” Emilio said. “I care.”

“About me?” Henry asked. “Yeah. About what I have going on with Stacy or any other girlfriend? No.”

“Well, I’m asking now. Two and a half years is a long time. Don’t you want to lock it up? Get married, move in together, have kids? Don’t you want what Ma and Pop have?”

The pause was much longer this time, and Emilio could hear Henry pacing. “That’s just it, bro,” he eventually said. “It isn’t like that with her. That’s why I haven’t wanted to get married. But she’s great, so I keep thinking maybe I need more time and then it’ll be different. Maybe the way Ma and Pop are is because they’ve been together a long time, you know? Maybe it ain’t something that happens right away, and you gotta grow into it.”
