“Gin and tonic,” Becca says.

“You look like you’re ready for another one,” Kevin says as he heads back toward the door. “Ollie, Debra, you too?”

We all order one and my new stepdad heads in to make them.

“What are we thinking for dinner?” my mom says as she walks into the pool up to her waist. In all of my life, I don’t think I’ve ever seen my mother dunk her head under water. “Should I call the chef or should we go out?”

I turn to my new crush, my new everything. “There’s a great seafood restaurant on the beach near here. You look like a lobster kind of girl. Want to try it?”

“I won’t say no to lobster,” she says with a smile. “Unless it wants to bite my toes.”

“Perfect!” my mother says as she heads back out of the pool. “I’ll go make the reservations.”

I wait until she wraps a towel around her waist and disappears inside before turning to my girl.

“How about we let our newlywed parents have a nice romantic dinner in that seafood restaurant while we go have some fun?”

“Some fun?” she says, looking unsure, but also looking a little intrigued.

“I’ll show you the real Hamptons.” I’ll also show her the real me.

“We can’t do that to our parents though…”

“What? Let them have a romantic evening alone?”

“But this summer is all about getting to know each other.”

“We’ll get to know each other,” I say with a grin. “And you’ll still have a whole month to get to know my mom. It’s just one night.”

She bites her bottom lip as she thinks about it.

“I could use some fun,” she finally says.

“Then, let’s go.”

“Okay,” she says with a firm nod. “I’m in.”

CHAPTER FOUR

What the heck do you wear to a night on the town with your new stepbrother?

Most girls would wear whatever and not be obsessing over the perfect outfit to impress their stepbrother because most girls aren’t perverted sexual deviants who get immoral crushes on their new family members!

Unfortunately, that’s not me. I put on one of my favorite summer dresses and stand in front of the long mirror. It’s… okay.

It’s a cute purple dress with white polka dots, but it’s not sexy. It’s not going to make anyone’s jaw drop. It’s not going to cause Ollie’s eyes to bulge out of his head.

I still can’t believe that we’re going to sneak away and have an evening with just us. I’m thrilled and nervous and excited. So many emotions are running through me right now. I don’t know what to think, so I’m just focused on trying to find the perfect outfit instead of obsessing over the fact that I have a new crush, that my new crush is my stepbrother, and that I’m stepping into very dangerous territory here—territory that can ruin my father’s new family that he’s so proud of.

“Yes,” I whisper when I see it. The perfect dress.

I’ve always been too shy to wear it. I bought it on one of those rare days when I was feeling extra daring, but whenever it was time to put it on and leave my apartment, I chickened out.

Not today. I didn’t know it at the time, but this is the moment I bought it for. Ollie is the guy it was destined for.

I pull it out and drape it on the bed.

“Wow,” I whisper as I step back and look at it.

The color is redwood and there’s a pattern of little white flowers all over it. It’s low cut with thin spaghetti straps and a very high slit up the thigh. My boobs look great in it and my legs will look even better now that they’re a bit tanned from the day in the sun.

I’m wearing it!

Even my mouth drops when I have it on and step in front of the mirror. I look fucking hot! That’s not something I say a lot, but I’m going to say it now.

My hair is all wavy from the beach, so I keep it as is. I touch up my makeup, spray a little perfume on that I hope Ollie will like, and I head out.

“Becca!” my father calls from the kitchen as I’m walking in. “Oh, there you are. We have to get going, the reservation is at—oh, my!”

Ollie and Debra are in the kitchen as well. They all stop and stare at me in awe as I walk in. My eyes dart to Ollie, hoping he’s going to like it. The guy’s eyes are as big as dinner plates as he looks me up and down.

He’s looking hot as hell too with light grey pants and a white, short-sleeved, button-up, collared shirt. Those arms look as tempting as ever with his sexy sleeves of tattoos running down to his wrists. His muscular chest and big shoulders fill out the shirt perfectly and I’m trying not to stare very long, but it’s proving to be nearly impossible.
