“Meh, who needs them.” She stands and reels in her pole, setting it on the ground. I watch with rapt attention as she lifts her tank top over her head and tosses it onto her chair.

“Scarlett.” There is a warning and question in my tone.

“Are you scared, Kincaid?”

“Yes.” My confession shocks her. Her hands freeze where they are unbuttoning her shorts. “It’s dark. You don’t know the waters.”

“No, but I have you.” She gives me a bright smile and continues to unbutton her shorts and slide them over her hips.

“This isn’t a good idea.” I know that we’re safe from prying eyes out here. I drove to the other side, opposite where people usually gather to fish or hang out. If someone heads our way, we’ll be able to see and hear them long before they see us. I wanted some time just the two of us. I had hoped our night might end with me buried deep inside her, but never once did I think this was what she would want to do.

“We’ll stay close to shore or the edge. Is it still the shore for a river?” she muses.

She knows the answer. She’s just fucking with me. “How strong of a swimmer are you, Scar? Seriously. Stop for a minute.”

She places her hands on her slender hips and tilts her head to the side to study me. She’s in nothing but a white bra and panty set that seems to glow beneath the light of the night sky. “I took swim lessons for years. I’ve swam in the ocean more times than I can count. I’m a strong swimmer.”

“There are fish and… other things.” Fuck, I can’t think with this woman standing in practically nothing.

“We’re going to be fine, Archer. Now, are you joining me?” She reaches behind her back and unclasps her bra. My eyes are glued to her as she slides one strap and then the other over her shoulders before pulling it off completely, and it, too, gets tossed onto the chair.

“You’re overdressed, Kincaid.”

“Shit,” I mutter, kicking off my shoes and stripping out of my shirt and shorts in quick succession.

“Is that for me?” she asks, walking toward me like the beautiful vixen that she is. She palms my cock in her hand and strokes me through my boxer briefs as I inwardly curse myself for leaving them on.

“It’s not for the fish,” I husk out.

She laughs, the sound echoing through the night air. “We’re almost there,” she says, dropping her hand. She takes a step back and bends at the waist, pulling her panties down her long legs. “Ready?”

“You stay next to me, Scarlett. I mean it.” My heart is pounding. I’m not sure if it’s from looking at her or if it’s my anxiety about something happening to her. I’m pretty sure it’s a combination of both.

“Yes, sir.” She salutes me. Her tits shake with the action.

“Fuck it.” I do quick work of getting rid of my boxer briefs and take one long stride to get to her. I bend and lift her over my shoulder. Her soft skin against mine feels incredible. I walk us to the side of the river and take a cautious step into the warm, night-covered water.

I don’t stop until I’m waist-deep. I let Scarlett slide off my shoulder but keep her close, pulling her into my chest. “This was a good idea after all,” I say, bending to press a kiss to her bare shoulder.

Scarlett wraps her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. My cock pulses, begging to enter her.

“I knew that arm porn of yours would come in handy one day.” She laughs.

“To hold you up in the water?” I ask.

She nods. “What about outside of the water? Do you think you could hold me like this without the water assisting you?”

“You didn’t learn your lesson the last time you questioned my strength?”

She bites down on her bottom lip. I’m holding her wet, naked body in my arms. Leaning in, I trace her lips with my tongue before giving her a soft kiss.

“I know you’re extra strong,” she says dramatically. “But I don’t know. I kind of had something in mind, and I don’t know if you’re up to it.”

“If it’s with you, I’m all in.” The words are out before I can stop them or think better of what I’m saying. Oh, well, it’s the truth. I crave time with her. It’s been too long, and right now, she could ask me anything, and if it’s within my power, I’d make it happen for her. That’s a scary revelation, but I shake out of that train of thought and keep my mind on the beautiful woman in my arms.

I expect her to tell me what it is she needs me to do. What I don’t expect is for her to hug me tightly and bury her face in my neck. Something coils and snaps loose inside my chest. I’m not supposed to like her as much as I do.
