I put my hand on her chin and force her to look at me. “You’re going to be mine... fuck that, you’re already mine.”

She almost looks bewildered, staring back at me. “If you want me... why would you not just ask me out on a date? I don’t understand any of this.”

I lean down until our mouths are just a fraction of an inch away from each other. “You’re a special woman, Sara. I knew it the first time I met you. You’re not someone a man can ask out and just hope they say yes. My way...you’re going to know and feel exactly how obsessed I am with you. You’re all I think about, and when I claim you...”

She whimpers and urges me to continue. “Yeah?”

I cup her jaw and whisper, “When I finally claim you, sweet Sara, you will be mine and only mine. I’ll never share you.”

I know better than to kiss her, but when she moves her head and presses her lips to mine, I suck in a breath because the real thing is better than I’ve ever imagined. I kiss her as if my life depends on it. Her hands go around my neck, and she moves against me. One leg lifts, and she hooks it around my hip. My cock is hard, and I thrust my hip against her, wanting her to feel just how hard she makes me.

I could pick her up and carry her to the table and make her mine right now. But I don’t.

I kiss her one more time, savoring the feel of her lips on mine, and then I pull back and set her away from me.

Her eyes are large in her face, and her lips are swollen. “Why’d you stop?”

I press my hand to her belly. “Because when I make love to you, I’m going to want it all, Sara. And I’m not going to take it on a table here at work.”

She shakes her head. “But...”

I smooth the hair that is sticking up on her head. She’s going to be mad at me now, but I'll make it up to her later. I release her and step back. "Thanks for coming."

She looks at me in disbelief. Her mouth falls open, and then she huffs and walks out the door. I lick my lips because I know that soon she's going to be mine.

Chapter 9

Sara

I barely get to my desk and Christy walks toward me with a worried expression on her face. “Are you okay?” she asks.

My hand instantly goes to my hair. Oh my God, she knows, and if she knows, everyone in the office knows. “I... uh...” I start to stutter.

She pulls me in for a hug and then leans back to look at me sympathetically. “I heard about the meeting and your little, uh, outburst.”

I let out a big whoosh of air. Oh, thank God! “Uh, yeah, Daniel... Mr. Tate caught me off guard and...”

She’s shaking her head. “I know. It was your first time at the meeting and you got tongue-tied. Trust me, I get it. Don’t let what they say bother you.”

I look around the room. What does she mean what they say? I start to question her when I hear someone across the room scream out, “Sex!” And then another person the opposite direction does the same. I look both ways and then at Christy. She’s still patting my shoulder, trying to soothe me. “It’s okay... they’ll get over it. Just ignore them.”

But Christy is wrong... terribly wrong. My little sex outburst in the meeting has turned into the office joke. All afternoon I've had to listen to people laughing about it. It's been a roller coaster of a day, and my emotions have been all over the place. Even though my and Mr. Tate’s relationship, if that's what you want to call it, has gone to a different level, it's not enough.

I still want him. I’m probably a fool, and he’s probably going to break my heart, but I have felt his eyes on me all afternoon. It's almost closing time when Thomas walks over to my desk. "We're all thinking about going out and getting a drink. Do you want to join us?"

I look at him and try to appear disappointed. Shaking my head, I tell him, "I'm sorry. I can't. I have plans already."

He nods. "Sure, sure. Maybe some other time."

I nod but don't comment. I know it's stupid, but I don't think Mr. Tate would appreciate me going out for drinks with Thomas. After the stunt he pulled this afternoon, I shouldn’t care, but I do.

I wait for everyone to leave, until it's only Mr. Tate and me left in the building. I think about pushing the button on the intercom and letting him know that I'm leaving, but I stop myself. There's no point. I've learned that no matter what, he knows where I am at all times. I'm not sure how, but he does.
