“Oh, well, we wouldn’t want to keep her waiting,” Don stated as he slipped his wallet back into his pocket.

“No, we wouldn’t. Thank you for the offer all the same. You enjoy the rest of your night.” Caspian started to return to his car then Don called out to him.

“Sir, I’d like to know your name. I can’t thank you enough.”

“My name is Simon Nielson Everton, sir, but you can just call me SNE.”

Don chuckled at that. “Well, thank you, SNE. You’ve been a godsend.”

“Well, as my mama always says, it’s important that we all are willin’ to go to bat for someone. Today, I chose you.” He waved once more then headed off. When he looked in his rearview mirror, he could see Don happily driving towards his house. Coffee cup in hand. Drinking…

It wouldn’t be long before the man began experiencing a Fentanyl O.D. of epic proportions. As Caspian drove away, he slowly removed his apparel and placed it inside a bag. In typical fashion, he began the purging process. He stopped this time at the Ohio River. He walked down to a desolate part of the bank, opened the disposable computer to ensure all info was erased, destroyed it, then tossed it into the river. Using a pair of scissors, he cut up the various hats he’d worn, as well as the jacket, and discarded the shredded fabric into the water. When he got back in the car, he banged out to the sounds of Pharoahe Monch’s ‘Simon Says.’ Rapping to the lyrics, he tapped the steering wheel, a big ass smile on his face.

You gave those girls a laced drink, you motherfucker. I know you’ve done it to others, too. I just haven’t found which ones yet. How fittin’ that you suffer the same fate, getting to die with a fucked-up, tarnished legacy. You’re no pillar of society! You’re a fuckin’ drug addict, now. A fucking fentanyl user. A hypocrite.

Caspian bobbed to the music, eager to get back home and dive deep in Azure’s pussy. He was turned on. Horny as hell. Full of energy. All in a day’s work…

I’ll send a letter to the girls’ family in a few weeks, marked from Cleveland, Ohio. I am speaking for Sarah and Angelica Marston. They can no longer form the words and tell their story, so I’ll do it for them. Rest well in Heaven, angels. Speak No Evil… S.N.E…

What the police didn’t find out way back at the time of the murders, or care to plunge into, was that Donny boy had a little problem with torturing animals as a child and hated his overbearing, ultra-religious mother with a passion. His father was a meek and mild man who allowed his wife to rule the roost. Don also dabbled in homosexual activities as a teenager and young man, wrestling with his sexuality, and perhaps felt resentment towards women due to societal pressures. Likely, he struggled with his own religious beliefs because of this. He was married to a woman he pretended to want and love, and subsequently bearing only girls, as a final slap to the face. Women were all around him, and on some deep subconscious level, he more than likely blamed them, starting with his mother, and believed womenfolk were the root of all of his problems…

Well, Donny Boy, I got ninety-nine problems and your ass is no longer one of ’em…

Looks like you’re on a permanent coffee break.

The best part of not waking up, is fentanyl in your cup.

…Several days later

Caspian sat on a tall bar stool mid-way down the counter at Gertie’s Whiskey Bar. Legend sat on his left, smoking a cigar, and Axel on his right, fiddling with his Apple watch while waiting on his Uncle Disheveled brew. The sounds of ‘Diet Coke,’ by Pusha T, drifted out of the speakers. He’d just read online that Don was dead, so it was celebration time. The upper-middle-class Cleveland neighborhood was shaken to its core, shocked that such an upstanding member of the community had a drug problem. Oh, the shame…

“What you thinkin’ about, man?” Axel nudged him, a smile on his face. “You’ve been too quiet.”

“Oh, I was just thinkin’ about something interesting my girlfriend told me. She said the other day, that, uh, she offers me, and anyone else she loves, the highest and best of her, the premium Azure, even at her lowest and worst moments.”

Legend tossed him a glance, placed his cigar in an ashtray, then tapped his fingers along the counter.

“That’s deep. I’m lookin’ forward to meeting her.”

Axel nodded in agreement. “She sounds like a smart cookie, Cas.”

“She is.” He grabbed his glass of Old Charter bourbon and took a taste. “I want to be with her… long term. Just tryna figure out the particulars.”

“Because it’s long distance?”

“Mmm hmmm. I have to figure this out but I think with a few strings pulled, we can manage. Compromise will be in order initially, but uh, I plan to move back here. I want ’er just that bad.” He didn’t miss the huge smile on Axel’s face.
