“Ronnie’s next.”

“And Alyssa and Kylie and their guys are all in the same limo, right?”

“Yep. That’s their car, there.”

I leaned forward, peering at the little screen, eager to see what my friend was wearing. A chauffeur opened the door and a tall man in a black suit got out, turning back to assist Ronnie.

She looked stunning. She had on a very daring fire-engine red dress with a plunging neckline that looked incredible on her. She should be the leading lady, not me. The skirt of the dress was full, and both she and her date were having some trouble with getting it all free of the car.

Then finally, she was free of the car. She took her date’s arm and smiled at him as he straightened up.

My jaw dropped, but no sound came out of my throat.

“They look good together, don’t they?” Aiden said, nudging me good-naturedly.

But I still couldn’t speak. Because the tall man escorting Ronnie into the theater was Carter.

Then Alyssa climbed out, moving carefully since she’d broken her leg not that long ago. Her date was Drew.

Lastly, Kylie hopped out and beamed when she took the arm of her date. It was Tristan.

What the hell was going on?

SIERRA

It wasn’t until hours later, after they’d shown the entire movie, that I got to talk to Carter, Tristan, and Drew. I’d barely paid attention to the movie, even though it was the first time I’d seen it in its entirety because I just couldn’t believe they were here.

In a way, the distraction was an extra good thing because I was too busy thinking about them to get too upset at seeing the original version of the sex scene that had been leaked.

Then Aiden escorted me to the after party, and I couldn’t wait any longer to find my friends, both new and old.

Ronnie had found a table for them, and she popped right up when I came over, giving me a big hug. Alyssa and Kylie did the same, but I only had eyes for three people.

“What are you doing here?” I asked when Carter rose to his feet and gave me a quick hug. I wanted to throw my arms around his neck and cling to him, but since I’d come with Aiden, that probably would cause some rumors. Plus, I still didn’t know what they thought of me. I’d been so rude when I left so abruptly that day.

But then Tristan also gave me a quick hug. “You look gorgeous,” he whispered in my ear.

Drew had a message when it was his turn, too. “You were so good in the movie.”

Before I could question them further, Ronnie pulled me down to a seat between her and Kylie. Kylie was the one I’d seen the most recently. She’d been waiting for me at the Denver airport after the helicopter brought me there. With her, I hadn’t had to hide my tears.

“I don’t understand,” I said, after Alyssa brought me a drink and pulled up a seat.

Kylie grinned. “We didn’t want to have to choose between our men, so we figured we’d bring one of yours.”

“But—but—how did you even get in touch with them?”

“They found me,” Ronnie said. “Your men are very resourceful.”

“They’re not my men.” But I sure as hell wished they were. I wanted to grab them all and go someplace private so we could really talk. But even if that were possible—I didn’t even know where they went.

“They have some business to take care of,” Ronnie said, but I had no clue what that could mean. Surely they weren’t trying to make the movie industry more environmentally friendly?

“I have to find them.” I stood up.

“Wait, Sierra…” Kylie called, but I ignored her. I couldn’t wait one more second to talk to the guys.

But first, I had to find them. There weren’t by the buffet or the piano or the stage in the front of the ballroom. I was half tempted to kick of my four-inch heels, climb on a chair and scan the crowds until I found them.

And then I did. They were huddled in a corner on the far side of the room. It wasn’t until I was ten feet away that I realized the three people I wanted to talk to the most were with the man I wanted to talk to the least.

I skidded to a stop, almost overbalancing on my heels. What the hell were they doing talking to the assistant director?

I joined them, squeezing in between Tristan and Drew. Neither of them acknowledged me. Their entire focus was on Henderson.

“If you had proof, you’d go to the police,” the obnoxious little man told Carter.

“It’s still an option,” Carter said. Despite the fact that I had no idea what he was talking about, he looked menacing as hell.

“And there’s precedent,” Tristan said, stepping towards Henderson. “We’ve already found three women who will back up our story.”
