I had gone to take a quick shower at that point.

Standing, I moved over the floor silently and was halfway down the stairs when she opened the door. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the railing.

“Brown bears and wolves,” I said, breaking the silence.

She jumped and let out a small scream.

“When the Hummer runs out of gas less than a mile from here, you’ll be stuck there. Walking back here or the twenty-plus miles to the nearest house, you’ll likely be mauled by a bear or become a wolf’s meal.”

She closed the door, and her shoulders fell before she turned around to look at me. It had been a decent plan. One I’d been prepared for. The fuel for the tank was locked away and hidden for when we would need it.

“I thought you were asleep,” she said.

“I couldn’t let you get killed, Ace. I didn’t bring you all the way up here for a bear or wolf to get you.”

She walked over to the coat rack and shrugged off my coat that had the key fob inside, then hung it back up.

The woman I’d paid to stock this place, including that little pink satin number on Royal’s body, needed a bonus.

“I don’t want to be here!” she snapped angrily, turning back to me.

I continued down the rest of the stairs and headed toward her. She wanted to be here. She just didn’t want to admit it. Stubborn, brave, strong-willed little beauty.

“What’s so wrong with here? You have food, heat, a comfortable bed, good company.”

The exasperated look on her face made me grin.

“One could argue about the good company part.”

I took another step toward her, expecting her to back up but she didn’t.

“You think so? Am I really that bad?”

She crossed her arms over her chest and glared at me. “Not everyone is charmed by your ridiculously handsome face.”

I could work with ridiculously handsome face. I took another step toward her. “And here I thought, it was my talent with carrying on an intelligent conversation. Next, are you going to say something about my body and make me feel like nothing more than eye candy?”

She narrowed her eyes as she studied me, she couldn’t tell if I was teasing her or not. When I was mere inches from her, I cupped the side of her face. I loved touching her. Seeing her skin flush even if she didn’t want it to.

“I told you not to touch me,” she said, trying to sound like she didn’t enjoy it.

“That’s hard for me to do. Especially when I have you all alone, in a remote cabin, dressed in pink satin. I keep thinking about how you tasted. Melted sugar, drizzled over a ripe peach. How sliding into you bare was the most incredible thing I’d ever experienced.”

My gaze dropped to her mouth. It was slightly open, and she was panting softly.

Just a little more.

I leaned down to press a kiss beside her ear. “I can take off your bottoms and bury my face between your legs while you orgasm over and over until you pass out,” I whispered, my tone husky, thinking about having her like that. Right now.

“I’d never hurt you,” I assured her, running my knuckles down the swell of her full tits that pressed against the satin top. “I just want to have you, take care of you, taste you, fuck you.” My hand slid over her ass, and I squeezed it, pulling her closer to me.

She let out a small cry, and those blue eyes stared up at me, glazed over with need. That was my girl. Right there. I picked her up, and she wrapped her legs around my waist while I strode purposefully toward the stairs.

Upstairs. Naked. All that golden hair spread out on the pillows. Mine.

“Sebastian.” She said my name, and I didn’t pause.

“Yes?”

“I’m scared.”

Fuck. I’d thought we had moved past that.

“The only thing you have to be scared of is that I won’t let you out of this bed. The things I’ve imagined doing to you …” I paused as we reached the top, then looked her in the eyes. “Please don’t be scared of me, Royal. I’m begging you. I can’t stand the idea of you fearing me.”

She pulled her bottom lip into her mouth, then let it go. I had plans for those lips and that mouth.

“That’s not what I mean. I … I feel too much with you already. You make me have these very strong reactions. I’ve never been jealous before but …” She paused and looked away from me. “I’m afraid the more we do this, the closer we get, the longer we are here … I think I could get addicted to you, very attached. I don’t trust myself with that.”

A smirk pulled on my lips and continued until we reached the bed and I set her down.
