The waiter nods before walking away.

“That was embarrassing,” she hisses, her cheeks a little flushed.

“But I bet that sweet pussy of yours is wet.”

Her eyes dart around the room, but there’s no one around. This is a very private table, and I’m paying handsomely for it. It’s going to be worth every single penny.

“What exactly are you doing?”

“It’s called foreplay, Leighton. Ever heard of it?”

She slaps her menu on the table, opening her mouth to say something, but the waiter returns with our drinks.

“We’ll need a few more minutes with the menus,” I tell him.

“Listen, Gaige, I—”

“Leighton, the sex is off-the-fucking-charts hot. We work well together, both professionally and in the bedroom. We’re going to be traveling together for weeks until we can build this team. I’m not looking for anything serious and neither are you. Why not have mind-blowing orgasms and a little fun along the way?”

She blinks at me, and just when I think she’s going to throw her drink in my face and storm away, her mouth curls into a smile.

“Yeah?” I ask.

“Why are we wasting time on eating?”

“Because I like to watch you squirm. How slick are your thighs?”

“They’re—”

“Ready to order?”

I could cut this man right now.

We both place our orders, Leighton getting the upper hand when she orders her steak medium well instead of medium rare like she did before, knowing it’ll take longer to cook.

“Tell me about yourself,” she says, the bread basket in the center of the table going untouched by both of us as we chat.

“I have a younger brother. Tyler is a doctor.”

“A doctor and an attorney. The family must be proud.”

“Very,” I tell her. “What about you?”

“My sister is older by eleven months. She’s a pediatric nurse at a doctor’s office, happily married to a tech mogul.”

“Fancy.”

She smiles.

“You never got close to getting married?” I ask because these are things I’m not already supposed to know, and I find myself a little sad that I’m not learning these things for the first time directly from her.

“Never.” Her body gives a little shake as if she just can’t imagine doing something so awful.

Conversation and jokes continue. Dinner is served, and we lose track of time. She doesn’t say much about her parents, and I’m careful not to let anything I’m not supposed to know slip out. I tell her stories about my childhood, keeping it light and easy, trying not to brag because I know how good I had it growing up. My family was and still is amazing and supportive, even now as an adult. Lala would welcome this woman with open arms. She would smother her in all the love she missed out on as a child. I’m certain of it.

“Dessert?” the waiter asks as he lifts Leighton’s plate.

“Oh, no,” she says with a laugh. “I’m so full.”

“Chocolate Crème,” I tell him, finding her eyes as he walks away.

Ten minutes later, despite her saying she’s full, I watch with a slack jaw as this woman licks creamy chocolate off a fucking spoon. The noises coming from her lips make me want to dive under the table and have her for dessert.

“Enjoying it?” I ask, my voice thick and raw.

She nods. “It’s so good.”

“Wanna bring it back to your room? You can suck it off my cock.”

“I’m going back to my room alone tonight.”

“Like fuck you are.”

Her top lip twitches. “No?”

I shake my head, my eyes still drawn to her perfect mouth.

“Because you bought me dinner?”

“Dinner has nothing to do with it.”

“Because I made your dick hard?”

“You always make my dick hard.”

“That so?”

Another lick of that damn spoon.

“Is your pussy wet.”

“Soaked.”

“Why are we still sitting here?”

“You haven’t taken care of the check.”

“The waiter hasn’t brought it yet.”

“I wonder why?” she whispers.

“His dick is probably too hard to walk if he saw what you were doing to that spoon.”

“I’m being naughty.”

“So fucking bad.” I lift my arm up, knowing that the guy can’t be too far away. “Put the spoon down, Leighton.”

Thankfully, she listens and is wiping her mouth with her napkin, an innocent smile on her face when he arrives. He hands me the check and I pass him cash, not having the patience to wait for the swipe of a card.

In the next second, I have her hand in mine and we’re speed walking out of the restaurant.

“Do you want me to get a different room?” I ask.

“Really?” she scoffs. “Get real, Gaige.”

“What? I don’t know if you’re going to have a problem with staying in there after we’re done. I’m just trying to be courteous.”

“I’m not some teenage girl with an obsession. I’m not going to roll around on the bed smelling the sheets when you leave. My room is fine.”

I smile as I lead her to the bank of elevators.

As if the fun we had at dinner was washed away by one simple question, she heads straight for the minibar once we’re inside her room, and just like the first night, my lips can’t seem to stay off her skin. This time, she actually finishes the drinks, handing one to me and sipping on the other.
