When we were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lupo, I took her in my arms and kissed her like no one was watching. As our family and friends stood and cheered, I put my lips to her ear. “Mrs. Lupo,” I said.

She laughed and threw her arms around me, and I lifted her right off the ground, kissing her again. Our guests whistled and shouted, the string quartet began to play, and the sun came out from behind a cloud.

Life was fucking great.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

MABEL

Joe and I spent our wedding night in a luxurious suite at Abelard Vineyards, a wedding gift from the Fourniers. Austin and Veronica had taken Nicky for the night.

“Well? Was it agony?” I slipped into bed beside my husband.

My husband.

“Waiting for you to finish getting ready for bed so I could ravish you?” He reached for me, pulling me close. “Yes.”

I laughed as he ran his hand along my leg and hip, beneath the white satin nightgown I wore. Lowering his head to my chest, he pressed a row of kisses along the lace-edged bodice that clung to my breasts. Moving my hands into his hair, I closed my eyes and savored every sensation.

Joe had loved my body this way all throughout my pregnancy, and he adored the changes it caused—the curvier hips, the bigger breasts, the softer stomach, even the stretch marks. He made me feel beautiful and desired every day, even when I was exhausted, bedraggled, milk-stained, and bleary-eyed, wearing the same sweatpants I’d been in for days.

“No, silly,” I said. “The wedding. Was it torture?”

“It wasn’t torture.” He pushed the nightgown up to my waist and grabbed the back of my leg, tossing it over his hips. “Except when I cried and everyone saw.”

I sighed as I recalled him standing there in his tux, so handsome I couldn’t believe he was mine, tears dripping from those gorgeous midnight blue eyes. “I love that you cried. It made me feel so good.”

“But other than that, it was not torture. I actually had a great time.” He pulled the edge of my nightgown aside and teased my nipple with his tongue.

“What was your favorite part?”

“Mmmm. Can this be the last question?”

I laughed. “Yes.”

“Hearing us pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lupo. That sounded pretty fucking cool.”

“It did.” I smiled as his impatient hands tugged at my nightgown, trying to get it off me. “Hey, I got this special for our wedding night. I figured you were tired of me coming to bed in your T-shirts. Don’t you think it’s pretty?”

“Yes. But I will never think anything is as pretty as your naked body.” He tossed my new lingerie aside and turned me beneath him, his hips settling between my thighs, his erection caught between us, his lips hovering over mine. “Wife.”

My whole body tingled. “Husband.”

He kissed me, his mouth opening wide over mine. I wrapped my arms and legs around him, eager for him to fill me, the fire burning hot. But Joe was endlessly patient and attentive, never rushing, always a gentleman.

“Ladies first,” he said, easing down my body until his face was cradled between my thighs. I moaned at the first stroke of his tongue and didn’t stop until the climax shattered me.

Growling with hunger, he moved up until his chest covered mine. Reaching between us, I wrapped my hand around his cock. It was hot and thick and hard, and he groaned as I worked my fist up and down its solid length. “I want you,” I whispered. “Now. Please.”

“Forever,” he said as he filled me the way only he could.

“Forever.”

“God, Mabel.” Buried deep within me, he tipped his forehead against mine. “I know a good marriage takes work, and relationships are sometimes hard, but loving you is so damn easy.”

I smiled, feeling it with my whole heart. “I love you too.”

He began to move, and words were lost to us. The room around us disappeared. Our bodies and souls intertwined, and we celebrated the promises we’d made, the love we shared, the family we’d grow.

Which, of course, would expand nine months after our wedding night.

Joe Lupo was a man who knew how to score.
