I didn’t even reach the drink station to grab some water before a guy walked up to me. I only met him a few times in the athletic building because he was some football player, but I knew his name was Jaden.

“What’s up?” I asked him, noting the excited look on his face.

“I take it you had a fun trip in Denver,” Jaden chuckled as he tapped around on his phone.

“I guess… why?” I replied, shooting him a confused look.

Jaden turned his phone around and showed me a video.

Dread washed over me like cold water as I immediately recognized the bar in Denver. I watched myself brush Leah’s hair back and whisper in her ear, which looked incredibly flirty. It didn’t help that the guys were looking at her like they wanted to devour her. There was a hand on her back, and she was leaned close to the table with a flushed face. It was like she was looking at all the guys at once, no one being left out. It literally looked like we were about to jump each other.

“Where did you get this from?” I asked him, the sound of my heartbeat thudding loudly between my ears. How many people had seen this video?

Jaden shrugged.

“I don’t know. Some student assistant or something,” he replied. “But one of my friends sent it to me.”

That meant it was spreading like wildfire or it was about to.

“Don’t share it with anyone else,” I told him firmly before hurrying out of the cafeteria. I didn’t even know where the hell I was going or where I even needed to go. How could I stop a situation like this when it already began?

Coldness seeped down my spine as I paused, my mind jolting to Leah. She probably didn’t even know that the video was being spread around, and she probably would react much worse to this than me. I knew how these things operated, especially since she was blushing in the presence of six guys who looked hungry for her.

How the hell could things get any worse now?

Chapter 15

Leah

There was nothing that screamed fundraiser more than baked goods.

Since Hugo wasn’t going to budge when it came to sharing some of his team’s funding with us so that we could travel to Germany for the fundraiser, we were forced to think of other ideas to get money. A fundraiser came to mind, and we figured baking a bunch of cookies, brownies, and other pastries was a good idea.

Baking ingredients were cheap, and we could make a lot of things to sell. Plus, there was a perfect spot in the middle of campus where a lot of students passed through, so we would have a lot of foot traffic coming by to see her booth. There was no better pick-me-up after a long day of classes than a sweet treat.

So far, things were going fairly well. Our sweets were a hit, and I noticed some people texting their friends to hurry over and buy some before we sold out. At this point, we had another hour or two of selling before we were out of everything and met the goal that we had for today. It was still a good way away from how much we needed to earn in total, but it was still a start. And that was something.

“Support the women’s hockey team for our trip to Germany! We’ve got every tooth-rotting sweet you can think of!” Lily exclaimed to everyone walking by our booth.

I shared an amused smile with Suzette as we stood behind the booth, preparing to bag up sweets for whoever bought any. It was a beautiful day with sun and a breeze, and I was feeling pretty optimistic. Maybe we could really do this without the guys’ help.

They obviously weren’t that keen on assisting us anyway.

When two guys who screamed fraternity pledges strode up to our booth, they grinned at me in a manner that made my skin crawl.

“So, is there a waiting list to get in your pants or is it just who you’re feeling for the night?” one of the guys asked me, leaning in close and flashing me a sleazy grin.

My eyes shot wide open as I stared at them in pure bewilderment and shock.

“Excuse me?” I spat out. “You want to run that by me again?”

“You two can fuck off. No cookies for you,” Soroya snapped as she stormed up to them, scaring them off. She turned and gave me an apologetic look. “What the hell was that about?”

“I have no clue,” I replied, but a feeling of unease churned in my stomach. I glanced around, noting that a few people were looking my way and laughing to themselves.

What the hell was going on?

“Something is up,” I muttered as I turned to my teammates.

“I’ll see if I can find out,” Annie told me before walking over to one of the people giggling behind their phone.
