“I was putting up the baby’s curtains.” she says in a ‘duh’ sort of tone. I swear she is trying to send me into an early heart attack. We got married about one month after I slipped that ring on her finger. On our honeymoon we found out she was pregnant, thanks to the fact that all she did while we were in the Bahamas was make the toilet her best friend. Turns out, the first time I made her mine completely, we made our son. She is currently six months pregnant and glowing like a lightning bug in the dark. She has become almost unrecognizable. She smiles all the time, laughs like it is the only language she knows, and she no longer talks about herself in self-deprecating ways. When we discovered she was having our baby, she decided to stop working. She confided in me that she wants to be a better mom than the one she didn’t have and to her, that means she needs to stay home. Of course I told her it was fine. My family has enough money, so she never has to work. My mom has taken to her like a mother to a daughter and it makes me happy to see their relationship blossom so much. What I don't like is when she climbs ladders without me.

“What did I tell you about doing that? All you have to do is tell me what you need, baby. What if you had fallen and something happened to you or our son? Or you? Jesus Lynn. I wouldn’t survive it if I lost you.” I hold her to me tightly as we sit on the bed. I know I am overreacting, but fuck it. It could happen.

“I’m sorry, Zach. I just got so excited when the delivery came today, I didn’t think. I’m sorry.” She says wrapping her arms around my neck. She leans in to kiss me. “I can make it up to you.” she whispers as her lips touch mine.

“What did you have in mind sexy?” My son moves inside her stomach as she moves to straddle me. I love feeling him move and spread himself around, proving to me every day that miracles do happen.

“Why don’t you take my clothes off and find out.” That is something she never has to ask for. I spend the rest of the night showing her how much a part of me she really is.

EPILOGUE

LYNN

SIX YEARS LATER

“Zed, grab your little sister and come on. Your Grandmother is waiting for us.” I yell at my son as I walk to the car holding the baby. Of course he squirms as I try to get him into the seat and as frustrated as it makes me, I can’t help but smile as I look at his cute little face. Over the past six years, Zach and I have had three kids. Zed who is our first born is six and as serious as his dad, but he is also the sweetest, most caring little boy ever. Especially when it comes to his little sister. Evalynn is three and she is as sassy as they come. She is beautiful, smart and a full-on ballbuster. But, she also knows that she has her dad and brother wrapped around her finger and she uses it. Often. Then there is my little squirmy wormy, Lance. He is eleven months and doesn’t stop moving. Not to mention this little guy can eat you out of house and home. He was my biggest baby and that doesn’t seem to be changing. Unless of course the one I am currently carrying decides to pick up weight. Yes. I am pregnant again. Six months to be exact. This one is another girl.

We are currently on our way to a babymoon. We have taken one in my six month with each of my pregnancies. We are going to Colorado this time. I want to spend four days curled up, naked with my husband in front of a fire, doing nothing but having orgasms and eating. Zach is amazing. He works all day and then comes home and takes over so I can have some alone time. He cooks dinner, gives baths and puts to sleep. I hear the women I have a mommy and me with complaining about how their spouse does nothing but watch games and sleep. I give thanks everyday this is not my story.

Not to mention, as you can see, he can’t keep his hands off me or me him. “Alright. Everyone buckled up?”

“Yes. Where daddy?” my baby girl asks.
